I've seen a lot of corps and marching bands wearing sunglasses (matching or not) in certain instrument sections or the entire group. Nothin' wrong w/ paying tribute to the Blues brothers :-D

*welcomes herself back to the forums* First thing I thought when I saw this thread was "that's freakin' sweet!" Why not have inside brass? Great sound, competitive, something different than an outside & on-the-green show & it CAN be done. My old school, Blackhawk, did that when I was in Jr. High. So...why not?

yep, ya got a bus/van buddy still here. Just dunno what would happen if we got you, Torch, and Spanky pants in the same vehicle tho lol b**bs Planning on rooming w/ Lindsey-even tho I never really openly checked w/ her lol Anyways, I'm REALLY confused on the ticket pricing & all that. Do we have to pay for 3 separate ones or do they get more expensive w/ the more shows you go see?? Grrr...blondeness is showing I know :-p

Is the MVE crew still planning on taking the weekend trip up to DCA's to still at least make an appearance & watch everyone else kick butt on the field?

Well I'm obsessed w/ vampires (yes, have the cap fangs for the canines)...don't know why they'd have to be lesbians tho... But doubt I could help since I'm only available weekend, no transportation, and live in western PA lol :(

Jeff-that day was quite an experience and I'm just glad we still got home that night and we (mostly) got everything worked out. Sucks that we didn't get to go over our marching and actually compete but I suppose it was better that we went on 2nd and got back to loading up the equipment *rolls eyes* and that's just a whole other story about packing in all that stuff with all of our members. Thanks to everyone who was there to support us and sorry that the contra cuties didn't meet up with our 'fans' Hopefully we can catch up with some fellow contra players at DCA's

NICE pix contracutie-altho I don't see why it's necessary to be holding a euph aka-one of the wanna-be-contra instruments. but hey, w/e floats your boat :-p looks like a nice contra line :-D I need to get some pix of our 3 in uniform before too long but we've had a hectic season so far, so that might be a 'lil while. Wow, are people in California that lazy that they've come up w/ short nicknames for every place they can think of out there? :-p No news on any kind of timing for California or any other place, that is. Def need to get outa PA a.s.a.p tho

Hm...I think I'd fit in better w/ NorCal I could be moving out to California in a few months or not for a couple years...depends on jobs and all that jazz. Want to play in a corps that uses 3-valve Bb contras tho

Haha, every once-in-a-while I catch myself calling my beloved Ludwig a tuba and sometimes saying 'band' instead of 'corps' Hey, gimme a break-I'm only in my 2nd season at Mon Valley B) Can't wait for our show this Saturday in NY-I think we're gonna kick some major butt and pump out some serious sound muahahaha! ^0^

Awe CJ-I was thinking of moving out to CO to live w/ my sis, Holly a few months ago when she offered for me to live in her basement apartment but the only reason I didn't was b/c of Mon Valley & you wonderful psycho, creepy guys that make me smile at every practice...:) So no worries of losing your friend & bus buddy any time soon. It's a very far off plan that isn't set into any kind of motion right now. Just wanted to see what was out there *hugs

No, nothing being forced. I've been wanting to move out of western PA for a long time & I may get my chance w/in the next year or so if things go a certain way. Hard to explain w/o dipping into my personal life & that's not up for discussion any time soon lol I'm sure Jay is gonna kick my butt once he hears about this thread tho... :sshh:

Yeah, I wasn't thinking of doing a DCI corps. Seems like they're for the 1st chair students w/ time to go on tour and stay on a bus 24/7. Well...at least that's the impression I got. I do intend to find a corps like Mon Valley w/ friendly people and closer by to where I'll be-not exactly sure where that is yet, and if I'm even moving to Southern Cali. Like I had mentioned, it's just an option that might open up to me eventually and I didn't wanna surprise everyone next season by just leaving MVE and showing up in a SoCal line :-p

Ok, not to stir up any trouble w/ Mon Valley, but they may lose one of their 'contra cuties' to California one of these days...was just looking into what is over there and what all I have to look into. Let me know and thanks for any kind of help :) I'm not expecting to be leaving this season, if at all. I've just had an option open to me in my personal life and I'd like to know my options basically.

Hey, if you can't deal w/ rain & a busted tire on your bus then you shouldn't be in a drum corps. It's an uphill battle all the way lol And I think everyone is trying to steal us from MVE right now :-p This season has been a blast so far for me and I just can't wait to see the finals at DCA's in Rochester b**bs
