  1. b**bs lol seems like an interesting relationship between you two. Hopefully you can stay together for a long time lol Ludwig & I have only known eachother for 2 seasons now, but it was love at first site, as it is with any contra
  2. Hm...so does your contra switch names and genders often? :P I've always had male contras, don't think it'd be quite right if I would play a girl lol
  3. I had wanted to go into percussion back in 5th grade but ended up playing my mum's dusty french horn from the attic. It wasn't until my freshman year of high school that I got to test out the mother of all instruments-the tuba. *sigh* what a wonderful feeling to hold that brass beast. Definitely won't go back to marching a brass sousaphone tho-brass or not, sousaphones are too mellow for me, I LUV to belt out the sound and get it straight forward w/ the contra.
  4. Hm...and what would this "Hector" be? another gorgeous contra?
  5. Shhh...I'd prefer a Bflat 3-valve mag but don't think that's in the works anytime soon
  6. How boring...Don't think I'd be able to be in a drum corps w/ only male contra players. I was the only girl tuba/sousaphone/contra (whatever you wanna call me) player in high school with two guys and I had fun. But now that I'm with one other girl-my mini-me, Lindsey we're having a ball! ah! so much fun this year ^0^
  7. Hm...just get done w/ a show? And is that a Cavalier's uni?
  8. Yes, we've established that there are, infact, girl contra players that kick major butt hehe (already have a thread about that from Loujae:p) I've got a mini-me and I think together, we're gonna take over the world with our contras
  9. Most recent pic of me and my contra, currently named Ludwig :-D www.MonValleyExpress.org
  10. hm...I'm confused now. who's being or been a distraction to the melly players? And yes, digital calendars are very unique and helpful in remembering a certain someone's 18th birthday :P
  11. Hm...I wonder how many girls you guys are trying to get on the line this year b**bs ^0^
  12. I simply voted for absolutely NO woodwinds. I've played in the high school marching band which had handfuls of clarinets, flutes, saxaphones, etc. and now I'm playing in an all brass/percussion drum corps I can immediately tell the difference of sound quality. Instead of relying on the quiet instruments to try and carry a melody or even a tempo, we have clear and louder voices. Woodwinds sound beautiful on the stage when they have the quiet audience to help. But when you have screaming fans, quads being slammed behind you, and an explosive piece to play, they can't handle it. Brass is best, I'll leave it to that ~~!!~~Lara~~!!~~
  13. Hah! You can't fool me. We contra players know about your 'sensors' and we can just evade them :P Anyone else wake up this morning feeling like they were hit by a truck?
  14. Wow, we might need to do a room check when we stay overnight for DCA's this year eh? ^0^ I'm becoming very frightened of you, CJ...
  15. Yes, it seems our corps likes to "think out of the box" quite often
  16. As a side note before you go trying to bring in more girl contra players-I don't like feeling like I'm in a competition in my own section. I'm comfortable w/ Lindsey and there might be a catfight w/ another coming in on our territory...just a warning :D
  17. YES-I'm a contra player for Mon Valley Express and I have a fellow girl contra player in our section, my little mini-me & we kick butt to say the least :-D I've played tuba since 9th grade after switching from French Horn. Definitely will never go back to that one :P
