    Cornets

    So, now that any key is legal, why no Cornets? Seems like another "alternative sound" for those liking "dark and mellow". Sousa liked them!!!!
  2. And you guys rocked and rolled! My only problem was that we hadda wade thru the mud for our photo while you were on, so I only saw bits and pieces from the end zone.... :(
  3. As is Mighty St. Joe's. Operating since ~1991. I joined last fall, first time playing my horn "in anger" since 1970!!! (Can you say "sore lip"?) We did several shows, but Buffalo was the only DCi show, the rest were DCA or exhibitions. {Rain? It rained to some extent at EVERY show we did!!!!!}
  4. MSJ Alumni. Mostly 3 valve, but a couple of us are still singin' with 2 valves.
  5. Easy guys! We're having fun! And the rebate at the gate made frends for White Sabres. MSJ ARE History! We keep REAL Drum Corps alive!!!!
  6. If you're ever "up nawth", try to catch Mighty St. Joe's ALUMNI. 15 years and still rolling. Nothing to do with DCI. We play REAL MUSIC, and have fun. Not a project, "just" a Drum and Bugle Corps.
  7. Hmmm.... Apparently MSJ has entered the realm of "Chopped Liver"... I count 5 corps for your $15. That's $3 each. Better thtan a movie, eh?
  8. PLEASE! Let's try to remember why many of the members of an Alumni Corps are out there. In my case: 1) Not enough free time to commit to a competitive drill. 2) Physically unable to do same. 3) Want to play MUSIC, not a series of exercizes from a trumpet book while doing gymnastics..... If pressures continue to build for a group with average age over 55 to do "DCI drills", then we'll kill Alumni Corps.... So far, seems like the PAYING audience likes MSJ.
  9. I was absolutely stunned by Moe in Harrisburg when he walked up to me after our (MSJ) show and asked: Moe: "Did you march in the Barons at Boston in 1967?" Me: "Uh, yeah, how'd you know?" Moe: " I've got a picture of you I think. Can I take one now for a "then and now" set?" Me: "Uh, sure". HOW he could remember after 39 years is beyond me! What a real Pro. July 14 DCW issue, there I am. Unbelievable! Thanx Moe!!!!! You really made my "comeback" special!!!!
