  1. Ok ok. I'll stop messing around. Back on topic: what's with all this negative hoopla anyway? Let me tell you some things I liked about the show. I loved the transitions between the movements, especially the percussion feature into the ballad. I loved the ballad. What a beautiful performance by the vocalist and what brilliant guard writing. A lot of thought was spent trying to make this year's show cohesive with last year's, in the ballad and elsewhere. This is something that a judge cannot give credit for, but something an audience can appreciate. It was artistic. I liked the characters and the element it brings. Characters have been used before, I agree. However, never in a drum corps show has there been multiple characters speaking lines that reveal personality, and in a way, interacting with the vocals. I also find this notion of addressing the audience with vocals to be interesting. (beginning of drum solo) Finally, I loved the hornline features in the closer and the overall visual feel of "wonderland" the show created.
  2. Just to be clear, the slide whistle is not innovation. I'm going to make some popcorn.
  3. Thank you for reminding us, Krista. Perhaps you could remind everyone else how ####in sweet The Cadets were this year too? Please?
  4. Haha. oops. I promise Cadets 2006 is way cooler than 2005 Vanguard.
  5. Just to clarify, I attended 17 shows. That's right. Count them. 17. That's credibility right there, #####es.
  6. ~G~ thinks dcp is reality? Had ~G~ been at the same amount of shows I was, he would have less money. Also, he would have identified with the boring people who hate The Cadets and threaten to leave the stands to eat cotton candy during their show but never do because they secretly like it. Therefore he might have perceived that most people hated The Cadets because he felt accepted my some people. But! there could have been just as many people liking The Cadets, but ~G~ was tuned out. He had his mind made up. By the way ~G~, please stop making typos. I hate it. I really do. Stop.
  7. LaSqueegee thinks high school band nerds are credible. You should listen to him. He hates The Cadets.
  8. The word is artistry. A performer is an artist. This isn't the professional world, the kids aren't being paid.
  9. So basically what we're saying is George Hopkins in drum corps is like the Jewish people in today's society.
  10. Dude. Don't worry about him. I remember his dealings with the infamous 27thlancer14. He gets worked up too easily.
  11. You know what director I really hate? Alan Cox. I've read his memoirs. He is going to destroy drum corps.
  12. I'm proud to be a Cadets fan. What an amazing production this year.
