  1. Hi Andy, Missed you at the Cabs show Saturday night. The Skyguys had the crowd on their feet. It was great to see the Red and Black moving around the field. Yes I'm still double-clutching, talking on the CB, listening to country music, blowing that air horn and chasing the horizon on a ribbon of concrete etc, etc:-) One of these days I'll retire but for now I like the job and need the paycheck. If I get a link to DCP in my inbox I check it out. But sometmes they don't come through and I forget to log on. I'll try to pay more attention from now on. Good to hear from you! Donnie
  2. Same corps will be in Bridgport plus Hurcs and Carolina Gold.
  3. I talked to John at and I&E at Archie some years ago. He won the keyboard competition. I mentioned the ice cream truck. He said (paraphrasing) 'No matter how many trophies I win for musical excellence, all anybody wants to talk about is the #### ice cream truck'. I don't bring it up anymore when I see him
  4. Thanks for covering the "Hairbear and Hairbare Show". And for recording it for posterity. It was great fun for us too!
  5. Those two hints would suggest Frankie Nash and Andy Lisko - but I'm not going to guess them spelling
  6. As long as we don't have to play over Swinghouse we'll be OK:-) Going to bed. Cya Saturday
  7. I competed against Liberty Bell as a member of the WRPC. Yes they were a powerhouse!
  8. Oh-oh, if I do all of the singing I'll need my "word stand" :-) Oh well, I'll just make up what I can't remember
  9. I'll bring the Ibanez along. Do you think we'll need to wear hard hats?
  10. Walt will be marching in the hornline this year at age 56. I was 56 years old the last year I marched. In fact, truth be told, I didn't finish the 97 season on the field. I was only doing it because we needed another contra-bass. Someone came along halfway through the season and took the spot - which I was grateful for since I was Asst. Director that year and had other duties to attend to. I also didn't finish the 96 season on the field because I had to have shoulder surgery. So we believe Walt is already the oldest person ever to march a full season in the Buccaneers hornline. Congrats to Iron Man Walt. I'm proud to cede the record to a super guy and a True Blue Buccaneer.
  11. Before those two tunes came along I had already OD'd on "Wipeout" and "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" Whenever I tried to hire a drummer, the first thing out of their mouth usually was "I don't do Wipeout"!!
  12. Rip Bernert was best friends with my #1 drum corps hero Edward "Bud" Johnston. Before Bud passed away the two of them were almost inseparable in their later years. A couple of years ago I was telling Rip how much I enjoyed Archie's 1959 show. He rattled off every song from that year in the order that they were played. He's an amazing guy.
  13. I think I may have one of those out in the shed
  14. Good move. I made the mistake of sitting in front of John Flowers on the way to Somewhere USA back int 60's! Lesson learned:-) spelling
  15. This months issue of DCW mentions them. They've been I&E competitors as a duet for many years. Both Super likable guys Too many hints?.
  16. Any Skyguys absolutely must disqualify themselves. There's a hint for ya:-)
  17. Now we're channeling Joan Baez Lets all hold hands around the campfire!!
  18. Hi Gang. I'm flattered and appreciative that you've noticed my absence from these epistles. For some reason I'm not getting the notices in my email box with the link to DCP whenever someone responds to post of mine. I think about the thread sometimes while at work bit then I forget to check in when I get home. It's true I get home early AM when Tony is on, but I barely have time to open snail mail and check a hundred or so emails before grabbing a shower and hitting the sack. Whatever I have to get done around the house during the week gets done in the morning before I leave for work. I know this sounds lame and whiney. Everybody works at something and most people have busy schedules. (With the possible exception of some of our retired Floridians:-). I'll try to be more vigilant as concerns my fellow GWers. FWIW Everything is fine here in the Reading 'Burbs! Donnie
  19. This one is pretty easy I think. I'll lurk for a while:-)
  20. (May 17, 1985, 24 years, 7 months, 15 days ago,...but who's counting May 1st 1984. My third serious try. Went to a group called Smoke Enders. It cost $200.00 and guaranteed I wouldn't smoke for 5 days or my $$ back. It worked!!!
