  1. Oh, I know that, I'm just figuring that they probably have say over another 10 points in those Visual Captions. Those silly motions that the hornlines do that put people in the way of my equipment have to contribute SOMEWHERE.
  2. At OC, I know LAST YEAR we cut alot of percussionists... and we filled up Contra/Soph/Mello quickly, but we took Baritones for awhile. Guard was filled from first camp.
  3. To everyone who voted to cut the guard... I hope you have fun topping out at 80! (Guard is 20 points)
  4. I'm not saying ANYTHING about the kids. I know they worked VERY hard, because I know those kids. They're amazing. But, considering this is more of a Corps Merger or Corps Takeover, the vets from OC would get the same treatment as a 'Scades vet because the staff knows them.
  5. I have a spot. I know Scades vets that didn't get spots. This is the "new" Cascades, why wouldn't they pick the OC vets over the Cascades vets? They know us, they know how we work, how we act...
  6. Cascades was declining, OC had a good enough framework to keep going without Lewis and the staff, so I think they made the best choice for the Drum Corps activity in the Northwest - Jump ship to help save another organization. Expect good things. It wasn't just the staff that left... :D
  7. Cavaliers in the 2000's. God, they always have TIGHT drill.
  8. I'm looking forward to SC2007. Should be great. Fresh faces, Fresh staff... should bring some renewed vigor into the Cascades. Plus... Lewicia Norfleecia Jenkins is back! Keep an eye out - you people who predict scores... Seattle is gonna surprise you.
  9. Mine just broke... And I need a replacement. Does anybody have one that I could buy off them?
  10. That, in my opinion, was a bad idea from management. Why not spend the money and go compete? The "trial by fire" that OC went through at competitions in the deep south really brought us together as a corps, sure, practicing makes perfect, but there really is no substitute for a good touring schedule. Practice burns you out, while competitions provide fuel for motivation. Or maybe I was the only person motivated by consistent losses to Academy? :D I kid, I kid. But, from a performers stand point, by the time July 28th rolls around, most corps have gotten the whole "tour" thing down, while OC will still have first show jitters.
  11. I agree with this statement. Did you see what Norfleet did with OC? 9th -> 4th. I'm thinking Seattle Cascades could quickly be back in the mix. I predict a battle between SC and Academy. That'd be fun.
  12. That's the thing. If say like... a couple TOP WGI guards just all somehow did non-ballet centric shows, I'm sure the judges would get over the fact that it wasn't ballet as long as the shows were clean. If not... oh boy.
  13. I know. That's why I called this the decade of Cavalier Domination. They just happened to lose twice.
  14. Who walked around after watch Academy's show on DVD humming/whistling their closer? Cause I remember doing it on tour after I heard it... everytime. The show in AZ, the inpromptu run-through at that one housing site, that 5 corps social... Everytime I heard it, it got stuck in my head. Anybody else?
