  1. And if people don't like Hopkins, narration, electronics, amps or whatever, why are THEY in the stadium? They could have just as well left and got something to eat just as you think this guy shouldn't be in the stadium.
  2. I don't care if booing has been around since the middle ages. That doesn't make it okay. You can keep rationalizing this any way you want. The booing was totally not cool and uncalled for. I don't care for what drum corps "director" it was meant to hurt. It's disgusting because the corps still has to hear it. I'd like to bet that if it were your kid on that field during all that booing, you'd probably be singing a different tune, but I don't know you at all so I don't know how you'd react to that.
  3. Yeah sure, everybody has to know that the corps leadership is being booed. Unfortunately, not EVERYBODY knows that. In fact there were kids there sitting near me and almost all of them were asking why The Cadets were being booed. Given these kids had to be around 11 or 12 years old but they didn't know the staff was being booed. But it was good that the people around them explained that The Cadets staff were the ones actually being booed. So that argument doesn't fly.
  4. It's easy for lots of people here to make excuses and to say it's people's right to boo. It's easy for people to boo them because it's the thing to do. Not one other corps there (or should I say corps director) was booed last night. All of that was saved for The Cadets, and it was not their fault. They were told they could leave the field. You cannot say that if you were on the field and your corps director was getting booed while you were on the field that you would not be angered the slightest bit. Sure, they should not that negativity affect them. But no one can say unless they have been in that situation that they would not be ###### off the slightest bit. I really don't expect The Cadets to let this affect the rest of their performances.
  5. Oh don't worry. They will channel this into positive energy. And I am gonna watch their rehearsal in about an hour to see how well they are preparing.
  6. Yeah it is a sad day indeed. GOOD LUCK CADETS!!
  7. Good luck to them. I'll be cheering all the corps.
  8. Well I am only 26 and have only been following drum corps since 94 so it was cool to see that in my opinion.
  9. I am sure the members of that year really appreciate that. I like the kick thing phantom did tonight too. Really cool, again.
  10. That's you but like I said, I have seen and heard it. Look I am not saying that ALL people are critics of the kids of the Cadets, but I have seen a lot of them. Just saying.
  11. You have every right to think that, but I have seen it and I am not sure of how many fans there are of GH either, so we can agree on that.
  12. No I don't think that, but a lot of the ideas he brings to the table does not warrant a comparison to George Bush ma'am.
  13. Judging from what I have seen and heard before I marched Cadets, while I marched Cadets and after I marched Cadets, it's probably 50/50.
  14. I already agreed that he could have handled it differently tonight so I am not sure why you are begging that question. would have to ask him to be sure though.
  15. Yeah I can imagine if it were finals night, but I don't think that would have happned on finals night. I think he would have taken care of that hash mark thing before the performance, which is why I think he could have handled it very differently. But he was still right for bringing it up.
  16. NOOOOOOO, I have been at a few shows where people have directly criticized the kids...tonight was a great example, like some of the jerks I was sitting near. So I don't buy that argument at all.
  17. Oh yeah and I am not looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say about that.
  18. You are right about the way he went about it. It was REALLY awkward. I totally agree with his decision, only next time I hope it's not so public so we have no more of these threads about it. I felt like I was walking on eggshells in the stands, but I stood up PROUDLY for The Cadets and will it ALWAYS!!
