  1. After an interesting debut season, we at the Blues Express met for the first time since finals earlier this week. We discussed the tour in general, whether or not it was successful, and where to continue. We all feel like starting out in something new always isn't easy. We weren't expecting a championship. we didn't even expect a finals performance though it looked promising at the beginning. We placed one out of semifinals, but we're proud of our finished product and thought it was good by any standards. After all, we do this for the kids right? Its never really been about scores or placement, thats just pure friendly competition. As for future directions for the corps, the long process of show ideas is finally over! After going through hours of material and probably over a dozen concepts, we have decided on the music of Chicago. One of the longest running and most successful pop/rock groups, Chicago followed the lead of Blood, Sweat and Tears and the Electric Flag by grafting a horn section onto a rock band. For over a quarter of a century, Chicago has produced 20 Top 10 hits and 15 platinum or multiplatinum albums and sold more than 100 million records. Take Me Home to Chicago Selections include: Fancy Colors Make Me Smile Free Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? Saturday In The Park (I've Been) Searchin' So Long 25 or 6 to 4 The first audition session are this weekend, they are being held at Dobson High School in Chandler, AZ, only a few miles away from the corps hall. See you there!

  6. My DCP-I username (for the DCP-I site, not this site): AZcoltcontra Corps Name: The Blues Express Division: 1
  7. Lol, yeah that will be the day. Next they'll bring out the protective shields to protect the audience from sonic blasts of power. Wicked is definantly a good musical, but idk if it would be good for corps or not, I don't feel like 04 Crown did Rent justice, while it still was a decent show. ...and I just found this too... Chops Does Wicked!...so I guess it's possible.
  8. Nessun Dorma is an amazing piece of music, I can't wait to hear it again.
  9. I think that the UofA band self titled themselves the "Pride of Arizona." REAL pride comes in Devil form. After all, we did play with Tower of Power. But I did think that the Radiohead show was unique. Very obscure, yet unique.
  10. Hey all, i'm a long time reader of the forum. My first show as a spectator was sometime in the late 80s/early 90s, I was exposed to corps at a very young age. Seeing the Cavaliers 01 show made me decide to get out of the stands and onto the field. I have marched with the Colts from 2005 to the present and will age out with them this summer. It has been a great ride and a dream come true.
