  1. Right on Frank! Of all the drum corps original compositions I've heard, my favorite still today...hands down...is The Pirates of Lake Mendota by Scott Borma performed by the Madison Scouts in 1997. This program told a story. It connected with the audience. I have to say any composition that can connect with the audience, tell a story, and communicate effectively the emotions the composer intends to project is a masterpiece. I have had the pleasure of performing with a concert band playing just a few compositions by Scott Borma. All I gotta say is "wow!"
  2. DANG IT! Due to my current $$ situation, I am unable to be Tremendous this year. There just isn't enough $$ for the end of this month to do it.
  3. Okay, I'm gonna hold you to that brother. So when and where are we going to connect for the Tremendous trek over to La X?
  4. I always enjoyed a good plate of spaghetti w/ meatballs. Of course the best energy rebuilder for me was good ol' fashion SLEEP!
  5. I love that definition of drum corps...for those who know, no explanation is needed. For those who don't, no explanation is possible.
  6. Tremendous Master John Mayer: Nope, sorry, can't join the Govies and can't get a drum...so I be blastin' on my bari instead of boomin' on a drum. J.C. - HEY BROTHER! Married life is AAAAAAAWESOME!!! Especially the, ahem, yeah...you know! b**bs B) You going to be Tremendous this year? I hope I can get some kind of chops back after not playing my bari for over 2.5 years! I was practicing last evening and it's coming back.
  7. I will most certainly be there too brother! and by knowing the appropriate Tremendous Master, I will be truly Tremendous by playing my truest instrument...THE DRUM! May the Blast be with you...always!
  8. Beer? (said with a heavy British accent) I DON'T LIKE IT AND I'M NOT GOING TO DRINK IT! :P now Pina Colada's are another story I like da sweet stuff. B) Oh and John, I shall be arriving with da Buzzard by only God knows what time on that Friday, 29SEP2006. We still have to work out the logistics ya know.
  9. As far as I know...Stoli? John??? chime in here
  10. Whoa! Hey, if he's allowed to march with his bass guitar then I should be allowed to march with my bari sax...(jk)
  11. TREMENDOUS! Yes, that's right, da preacher is once again going to be Tremendous! See ya in LaX fellow blaster!
  12. It is very apparent that those who have the willingness and desire to march drum corp are few and far between. I live in extreme southwest lower Michigan of the lower penninsula and the closest corps where I could march is either over by Detroit (Lakeshoremen) or in Racine, WI (Kilties). Either way it's about a 3 to 4 hour drive depending on traffic and such. I wish so much that an all-age corps would start up in either Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Muskegon/Grand Haven, or St. Joe/Benton Harbor...but I don't think that will happen. Who knows...maybe after my wedding and honeymoon this summer I may have the time and resources to march Lakeshoremen, but I just don't know. Of course, after the wedding I'd be a married man, so I'd certainly want her blessing and support. Good blessings Shara!
  13. "...no age limit...." Does this mean Steeltown Brass is an all-age corps? Looking to join DCA???
  14. does anyone have any news about the Lakeshoremen from Troy, MI?
