  1. As of this weekend, the Brigadiers Music Association (BMA) along the administration of the Brigadiers Drum & Bugle corps has determined that the group will not be fielding a competitive DCA corps for the 2010 season. While the Brigadiers maintain a dedicated nucleus of talented performers, this difficult decision was made due to unsuccessful attempts to recruit additional members to make 2010 a productive season. The Brigadier organization will continue to function, and the corps will be performing in several parades and exhibitions this summer. There is also serious consideration being made for a mini-corps to perform at this year’s DCA Championships. BMA will also focus on expanding our presence and support of the performing arts in the Central NY area. We will be continuing our sponsorship of the Onondaga Community College Winter Percussion program, with plans to expand on this in the future. Other community based and educational outreach programs are also being explored to promote the corps and our activity. Over the past decade, the Brigadiers have “raised the bar” in DCA. We believe that DCA is a better organization based upon the standards that were set. We look forward to building upon our membership base and returning to the competitive field to raise them once again. The Brigadiers Music Association will still be sponsoring two DCA shows this coming season on July 24th in Jamestown, NY and on August 14, in Cicero, NY. Additional show and ticket information will be posted on the corps website in the coming weeks. Our thanks go out to everyone for their dedication and continued support of the Brigadier organization. Yours in Corps, Richard Martin

  3. COLOR GUARD Rehearsal UPDATE - This Sunday, February 7th at Canastota High School We will be holding Color Guard rehearsal this Sunday February 7th at Canastota High School from 9:30Am to 3PM. The Brigs have a long history of fielding one of the best Guards in DCA, and 2010 will carry on that tradition! BRASS, BATTERY & FRONT ENSEMBLE Rehearsal UPDATE - February 28th at Canastota High School Due to unexpected logistical issues with our rehearsal facilities at Canstota, we will be moving our next rehearsal date to Sunday February 28th for the Brass, Battery, and Front Ensemble. Rehearsal will be held from 9AM to 4PM at Canastota High School. Further information will be provided on the Corps Website. The Brigs have openings in all sections as we prepare for our 2010 season. 2010 Brigadiers Present "Conquistador" Coming off their most recent success with the 2009 DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils, Wayne Downey, David Glyde and Jim Wunderlich have set their sights on designing a musical program for the Brigs that will thrill and entertain drum corps audiences in 2010. Based on Downey’s acclaimed original marching music composition, The Brigs’ 2010 production, “Conquistador” will be designed specifically for The Brigadiers and the drum corps medium and will return the corps to its signature power brass and percussion sound, with a little Latin flavor thrown in for good measure. Check the Corps website at www.brigadiers.com for more information on the 2010 Program!!!!

  7. OK, OK.....I would like any of the Brigadier members on this thread to calm down and take a deep breath. This is a spirited activity at times......and competition sometimes does get the best of us at this time of year. Still that is no excuse for trash talking other corps.........So this line of "banter" ends now. For anyone who may have been slighted or offended in anyway by anyone associated with the Brigadier organization in this thread... I sincerly apologize.....that line of negative talk is not... nor will it ever be our style. I and the Brigadier organization wish ALL CORPS the best for this coming weekend!

  18. Thanks Jeff for your review of the show. And I will also ditto the other posts on the great crowd as well as the over logistics involved with this show. The Lewisburg folks have this down to a science. Our facilities at the Lewisburg Middle School where excellent with scaffolding provided for the main drill field.....a nice added touch. The local Domino's stayed open beyond there normal hours to account for when our bus came in on Friday night. The entire community there loves Drum Corps and looks forward to this show every year.......as do we!
  19. The Brigs are rehearsing at the Lewisburg Middle School.
  20. I will also ditto what Holly has stated. Given the chaotic weather conditions during the day.......Dave, Mike, Gary and the entire "Cru" crew did a great job in keeping us updated and fortunately cutting a deal with the weather gods to have it clear up in time to run the show!! Thanks again to the Crusaders for hosting an enjoyable event from the entire Brigadier Team!!
