  1. Doesn't sound glib at all... I dig the feedback! :D
  2. Cavi's are still one tier above Regiment at this point.
  3. I disagree Matt, thought they were good, just looked a little burnt out.
  4. are they done yet? Went back to watch Cavi's and Troopers
  5. Yeah, but I'm sure someone did it before we did, although I would be happy to stand corrected. But seeing as though they're good kids, we'll be happy to give it to them on loan until we come back... ;)
  6. Me thinks ... Cavi's 87.2 BD 87.05 Regiment 85.5 SCV 85.2
  7. BK stole our f-ing knee check! Grrrrrrrr......
  8. LOL... nice visual... there goes my planned bacon breakfast tomorrow ;)
  9. I dont know guys, this show just doesn't grab me... and tonight they look really off. Is it just me?
  10. me thinks.... BD ? Cavi's 86.5 Regiment 85.7 SCV 85.2 (edited)
  11. Naw, but they are going to make it interesting this season. Give them a couple more weeks and lets see what happens with the closer. The more I see the show, the more it gets cleaned, the more I like it. Now lets see what Big Blue has to say tonight....
  12. Nicely done... much much much improved. This is a top 5 corps. Ending still blows chunks, but ne feels more changes coming... at lest that's what a little birdie tells me. Possibly even a Vanguard yell....
  13. Ummm... Kids, SCV came to play. The visual program has improved %500! Let's see if they've done anything with the closer... I think SCV makes a big move on Regiment tonight...
  14. SCV brought the goods tonight folks. This show looks much more mature than it did a week ago.
  15. It's obvious you and everyone else knew what I meant Cavs and Devs. Your need for perfection on a message board is not my problem. I have a great grasp on general effect... however, what I like and what you like could be two different things, and I respect that.
  16. Dude, nice post, great effort, but it's all for not. Cavi's will NOT win this year. The show is clean as a whistle, but it lacks GE... and honestly, is pretty #### boring, and that's not just me saying that, it's the consensus of most here on DCP. This weekend, I predict a one point spread beween Cav's and Dev's, with the Dev's on top.
  17. Me thinks... BD is Box 5 all the way. As much as I don't like BD, it's all their's to win. Here's the upset... if anyone has a chance at BD, it's Regiment. They have the package and the players. With a few minor tweaks here and there, this could be there year. JD is a God when it comes to making mid-season re-writes, and that drum line is mighty is as clean as a young girl before prom. The show is solid. No less than 3rd, very possible 2nd, still possible first. Cavi's will peak way to early. Show is not nearly as well designed as in the past. The talent is there, but they lack some serious GE, and I don't think it can be fixed. 4. Cadets 5. Crown 6. SCV 7. Blue (Cadets, Crown and SCV all within a point and a half)
  18. Is it clean, hell yes. But the show is awful, the worst for this corps in several years.
  19. Sorry, not trying to be a hater, there are many great things about BD, so my apologies if I offended. I disagree about the confidence part of it, I do think there is a bit more there than just confidence, but that's just an opinion.
  20. This is exactly the reason I hate the competition aspect of drum corps. Mikey's right, you are flaunting it just a bit. One of the reasons some people don't like BD is because of the "holier than thou" attitude. I know there are some nice people in the organization, but sometimes the attitude comes out a bit too much. Just because you got it, don't mean you should flaunt it. One positive thing I do have to say, Mike had a great picture of the BD drumline doing their preshow thing outside the stadium, and the bassdrummers letting the little kids jam with them. As a parent, that makes my heart smile. Nice stuff going on there. To the OP's credit, BD is in a class of their own right now, but just remember, wins in early June don't equal a ring in August (ask your brother en from 1988 about that. Those folks were clean as heck in June and July, but had their arse's handed to them in August). Much luck to BD and all of the other groups this summer. I don't care about scores, I just want to be entertained!!!!
  21. I think there might have been a lot of people expecting a let down after last year, and honestly, hearing the title of the show, I wasn't too impressed. But after seeing them and hearing the show... holy moly!
  22. Yeah, I've head through the rumor mill that there is quite a bit more to the open of the show, and some neeto visuals that will make you smile and get goosebumps. What we see now won't look anything like what we're going to see in five weeks.
  23. I don't think we've seen everything Crown has to offer at this point. It's the first week of the season (and this can be used as a general rule for EVERYONE). What I do see is a great show with a lot more potential. I think we'll get a good idea of where everyone will be slotted by the tie we get to Texas is two weeks. Honestly, if they work hard enough and make a few changes here and there, It's a top 4 show, and they could be the sleeper like Phantom was in 2006. But we have a few weeks to go before we can call it... lets see what happens.
  24. I'm just thumbing through my DCI rule book, trying to find the chapter where it says you have to have an extremely difficult show to be successful.... hmmm, not seeing it. But I'm sure its there, right? (sarcasm off) If there is one thing the folks at Crown have taught us, is that You don't need Cavi's style performance to get the crowd in your corner. Sometimes winning doesn't have be about getting a ring. Last year, Crown "won" the popular vote, and as a result, their show was more memorable and more recognized than any other show on the field. I vaguely remember what BD played, but I have Crown's show memorized. And it still gives me goosebumps. BD might have scroed 4 points higher, but Crown walked away the true champions. So... who cares if its not "hard", or if the music is too "easy"... what matters if the folks that paid for a ticket enjoyed it. Sometimes I really hate the competition aspect of this activity!
