  1. 24. My most Profound Emotion at DCA Finals = Extreme sadness when I realized that I would not get to see the Renegades 2004 show performed live again. Win, lose or draw, I am extremely proud of our show design and even more proud of the talented men and women who brought our designs to life on the field. It was a privilege to be associated with the men and women of the 2004 corps, who were not afraid to go in a different direction than anyone has ever taken before. Lee, It's almost as if you were directly quoting me but changing the word "Govenaires" with "Renegades". I can totally relate. Have a good off-season.
  2. i&e on Saturday would be better for the traveling corps, such as ours.
  3. Yes, Terry, Art Green is an incredible drum corps treasure. I almost missed our pre-show hype session talking with Art. I've known him since 1986 and can't say enough about him.
  4. Thanks for the review. Mankato is our second home show and performing there is always a joy (one of the best drum corps stadiums in the world) And whether or not you know how to use proper English (f___ing grammar police), your courage to post how you feel about a show is well appreciated.
  5. Thanks for the great review contratech. We were proud to entertain such an excellant crowd at Hastings.
  6. I've played DEG sopranos for most of my career and would like to believe there's a G-bugle better than this. Getting the horn in tune is a pain, probably because the "square" tuning slide. The horns are made to be tuned at room temperature, which isn't the temperatures drum corps play in (Yank that tuning slide). And the pinky hooks are glued on so poorly that they pop off while in the middle of a show. Please tell me Kanstuls are better. Smoothy
  7. I dig the 76 Oakland Crusaders. But, Phantom's Spartucus? That show made me choose to march in Madison in 82.
  8. 1977 Seneca Optimists One of the best horn lines that I've seen. Yet they disappeared shortly after. Smoothy
  9. I was marching with the Imperials that season and the Dalton show was our home show. Spirit was given the option to perform and they decided it would be good therapy to do so. It was one of my most memorable drum corps moments. The emotion coming through Spirit's performance was the greatest tribute Jim Ott could have received. Truly touching. Smoothy
