  1. they're not going to be RED, WHITE & BLUE are they? I hope they stick with WHITE.... and yes agree no hats.
  2. We have set up two FOR SALE tabs of assorted items on our website. www.CLASSICSCOLORGUARD.com FLAGS UNIFORMS MISC ITEMS
  3. Well we could leave recaps all season so the corps see where they are lacking and need to focus compared to everyone else. Then just eliminate recaps at Prelims & Finals and leave it at: in 1st Place ???? in 2nd Place ???? in 3rd Place ???? Come Prelims & Finals everyone should have tweaked and maxed-out all they could to every caption to the best of their ability. However, that would mean the people that can't function without circling and highlighting numbers all over the recaps would have nothing to talk about on here.. LOL ....... and there's that little thing called bragging rites
  4. WAY TO GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99.025 Everyone else what a great season. Thank you DCP for hosting us tonight. Felt like I was there

  8. Your placements were actually what I was thinking .... at first. Then after watching all the corps I moved MBI 2nd. After seeing the Wayne show I was predicting Cabs to pass Hurcs by Scranton, I was wrong, but still feel they will be above them come finals. BUCS had a great performance although there were some moments that were not as powerful from when I saw them in WAYNE. Could this be after their week off with no rehearsals?, last minute changes regarding their rehearsal site? possibly, but they still came back strong enough to claim the top spot.... and with a penalty. I know there are still more changes and additions to come through August so I do not forsee any slowing in their momentum. They know that to remain ahead to need to continue to keep evolving and looking forward. If they would have tied the injured Quad player's bad arm behind his back that could have made for a great DCP headline: BUCS WIN WITH 1 ARM TIED BEHIND THEIR BACK. HURCS are bringing there A game each week, and I don't think will see BUCS again until Prelims? It will be intersting to see which slot they fill into come Finals. Especially with the number redegades are pulling our west and some of the other corps taking the opportunity to creep closer while Hurcs are busy looking ahead to Bucs. MBI, It was GREAT to see them at the show! You can definitly see that even though they dont get to go head to head with these other 5 they are using the DCI corps as their personal competitiors and demanding the same respect. IMHO I think the trip to Scranton may have hurt them a little for championships. The anticipation and expectations everyone usually has from not seeing them I feel were put to rest for many. After seeing the program I could see it progressing to overtake Hurcs, probably not Bucs though. I also could see Cabs giving MBI a run to the finish line. CABS I mentioned a few times and think they are starting to get that taste back in their mouths for top 3 again. I could see August being one heck of a month for rehearsal with this group. Perhaps all the focus on BUCS, HURCS and MBI has taken some pressure off them to start to make their end of season push. Getting to see these 6 corps in the bigger stadium you really got a feel for the field design and IMHO Cabs uses the overall field more than Hurcs. Whenever I've watched Hurcs this season I keep getting the feeling of being too tight within the corp proper, then you factor in the guard and it just feel way too much happening within the 40's. Cabs on the other hand know they have the power of sound and create that wall across the field giving the guard and battery the space they need to stand out more. I think come Labor Day this will be a major factor that will put them over some that are ahead of them at this point. (Plus there is always the possibility of the addition of the smoke that gets the crowd going LOL ) E STATESMEN Well all I have to say is someone had to take the 5th spot. I was disappointed and expected more. When you look at the top 4, and compare to past seasons they all appear to be moving forward with demand and looking to the head of the line for the example. Watching Empire I am sorry to say I did not get this feeling from them. Even their usual "entertainment & pizazz" was lacking. Bad show? perhaps, but this was not the one that anyone could afford to lay a bad egg at. This year's program to me was something I have seen again and again. I think it is time for a new direction away from the flashy & patriotic if they want to play again with the front runners. BUSH, God bless them, they just keep going. We were counting in the stands and considering that possibility of not making to 10 this year. As an alumni I hope that's not the outcome and that August push kicks in as Bush is always known for. However the possibility is unfortunately there. As they say "What goes up must come down" and within these 6 there have been many GOLD medals and records broken, taken and gicen up. Each is exceptional in their own way at their own time. Who will it be we are talking about come September we will have to see. I feel it will be another one the BUCS, but regardless the battle for 2-4 is going to be a knockdown, claw scratching, LOUD battle. I just hope no one leaves FINALS with any regrets and takes advantage of the mnth of AUGUST to fine tune all their programs and give the crowd a labor day that we are still talking about on the newsgroups 10-20 years from now.
  9. WOW how this activity is changing. Soon they won't even have to actually play the music themselves. LOL Sounds like this could be a great reference tool. I guess next it will be updated with a DR-BEAT and a voice command to call out the next set. LOL I remember tour .... Before cell phones Standing in line at the only payphone at the stadium to call home 1 newspaper to share for the entire bus Checking the other corp food trucks for leftovers because your corps ran out of food Not even knowing what day it was or even what state you were in Busses with no air-conditioning (when they even ran) Weighting your flag poles with pennies Sleeping bags not airbeds WORKING TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN DUES not asking the world to support you on DCP & facebook Coming home from tour like you were away at boot camp not summer camp If you ask me these kids are just plain spoiled and have it so easy anymore. Yes they work hard to execute the program, but when you take away all the other hardships of being on tour it so is not the same thing it used to be. Oh yeah forgot one more thing writing post-cards and letters, not texting, facebook status updating and emails
  10. Thanks, I was not certain if that was the actual line-up or not. Looking forward to the show.
  11. If it inspires you to be a part of it then by all means GO FOR IT! while you have the motivation and ability to even try. There are a few DCA corps that are reachable (driving wise) if you are serious about getting back onto a field. Good Luck & let us know what happens come Nov!
  12. Does anyone have the actual line-up for the show? Is MBI on first since they were added last? How is the lineup determined for DCA?
  13. not confirmed from San Jose, CA show 82.68 Renegades
  14. Corp Vet won guard over Bucs by .2 at the Lewisburg show
  15. WOW CABS jumped almost 6 points from last weekend in WAYNE. Still think they should be (or will be beating Hurcs) Looks like the "storm" is getting blown off the coast.
  16. I know it is a longshot, but are any of the DCI CORPS performing Friday night in Allentown, then heading to Giant's stadium staying up near Scranton? Maybe they would be close enough and DCA could ask if they would be up for an exhibition?
  17. Last in competition were the host Caballeros - IMHO Cabs should have been closer to Hurcs and further from Bush. Where I was sitting I could see an animated exchange between a judge and a Cab official, I already knew there was a penalty involved, DCA officials had a hard time calming said judge. All this notwithstanding, I really think this is my favorite Cabs show in many years, really accessible music book, excellent balance in horns ( great upper register sops ) ,formidable guard with superb costumes, and a drumline that can only get better and score higher with time. frankiE Not one to post a review, but I was there also & not one to follow along with the usual hype others tend to play to.. I don't really care if you agree or not, but this is what I left with. (more of a guard person) IMHO (and a Bush alumni) I thought Bush should have been farther from Cabs & Hurcs closer to Cabs. It is going to take an awful lot for Bush to be able to play with the big boys this year. When are those props & tents being added? I'm tired of hearing that this corp is small and needs more horns players... Back when Bush was at the Top they were not pulling numbers of 40-50-60 players. Bigger is not better (if you can play) Guard has the numbers and fairly clean for July. Hope the rest of the show can move along at the same pace. Cabs had some great moments that impressed, (& I'm not so much a Cabs fan) but for me couldn't keep that feeling thoughout the show. I really wish this corp could learn that LOUDER is not always better and can try to balance the sound a little more. "Time to say goodbye" could be such a beautiful moment if it had more emotion and feeling put into it. Still, I left feeling they played better than Hurcs. Loved the guard uni's this year. Interesting and very tasteful & classics looking. I didnt notice the detail of the stencil/embroidery on them until they trooped the stands though. Some nice moments, but everytime a flag was picked up it just made me look away. I hope they are practice sets for now. Really didnt think the color schemes and/or designs fit the look/feeling of the program & colorguard. Hurcs, feel they get too much hype for what they are worth. Guard.. From reading all the "talk" I expected something better. Thought they were "over-hyped" last year and once again sorry to say this year as well. I guess if you like ripples and sparkle tape this is the group for you. Not for me. I thought they stopped selling that tape in the 80's. Staging?? & facings?? especially the weapon line. Hornline better than in the past. Drumline always brings their game. I was sitting on the 40 and the show appeared very congested in the center....more than usual. They play better so use the field and open it up & use the field. Again, spread the corp out and give the guard room to breath. Nothing real memorable about this show for me. Bucs.... Been to rehearsals and watching the progress so there are things I seen improved over the past few weeks. Hornline sound is IMHO just more crisp when hearing them next to the others lested above. Thought they started to lose some steam at the end. Need to save some of that from the beginning and bring it in the end. I'm not a drummer, but this show makes me notice them. Addition of the base drums to the beginnning was cool, would be better if it could be worked in later somewhere also? Guard.... waiting for everyone else to notice the "meat" of their program & overall equip. book..... especially in this year's program. Work on the transitions & cleaning the impacts will go far. Like the additions of the black shruggs at the top of the show. Adds to the darkness of "demons" Can't wait to see how these Four will line up with the additions at the Scranton show. (Empire, Minn Brass) Keep wokring everyone.. It is still only JULY! Tom
