  1. For what it's worth, when I went back and checked out scoring patterns from this season (frontensemble.com is awesome, by the way), I told a friend and fellow Crown alum that I thought we would be in trouble. Most people saw "Torchia" and "Oliviero" on Semis panel but somehow overlooked "Stone", "Ochran" and "Czapinski" on Finals. I mentioned this elsewhere, I did think it was odd that Czapinski went on a month hiatus from judging at all and jumped onto the Finals panel. Not sure I've seen that before.
  2. Not really sure what to say about this recap that won't get me called a homer, lol.
  3. Win, lose or draw, I cannot express my pride for what this drum corps continues to put on the field. Unbelievable, and undeniable. P.S. That's far and away the cleanest outline Crown set the drum corps has every stood in.
  4. Anyone watching multi-cam to know if the flugel is mic'd and not working or if they just left him unmic'd tonight?
  5. Hate on domes all you want, but that ring is pretty special.
  6. Closer is fun as always. Probably my second favorite in recent memory, only behind 2011. I thought last night's run was just a tad more solid due to some weird timing things, but otherwise they blew the doors down like they always do.
  7. The solos top to bottom (competitively) are unreal for the bari voice. Love them all.
  8. The mello line is great, but no mello line could sound like that on actual mellophones. Glad they can/did choose to use French Horns. #tonequalitymatters
  9. Weird attack between the horns and drums at the end of the ballad heading into this section. Not sure if it was just my feed picking up stuff strangely side-to-side though.
  10. Costs something like $35,000 or so, from what I remember hearing, but now that I have a friend that actually works at LOS it may be worth an inquiry.
  11. Based on the names I recognize, I'd be really surprised if anyone on the panel pulls what happened last night and dumps someone in the top four by 1.7.
  12. DT's numbers are always interesting, you've got that right.
  13. Regardless, it's crazy to see BD close the gap despite an undeniable performance by Crown. Tomorrow may as well be a coin flip as far as I'm concerned. Just can't wait to watch Inferno "live" one last time.
  14. Crown was down to BD in Visual Analysis (Debbie Torchia) at a wider margin than in percussion. This is a wild recap.
  15. Crown sweeps GE, wins Visual Proficiency, Music Analysis, second in guard, second in brass.
