  1. I have an excellent condition, close to like new dynasty soprano I'd like to trade for a kanstul. I'd like it to be comparable condition. Valves and slides are perfect. It is missing the slide stop screw for the third slide. No case. Email for pics. I would sell outright for $500. Joe googanelli@aol.com
  2. I'm interested in your trumpet. Shoot me an email! Joe googanelli@aol.com
  3. It's that time again when I put a shot in the dark out there. Does anyone have my old bugle? Does anyone know where the Glassmen sopranos ended up? Joe
  4. shoot me an email for a 3v mello. googanelli@aol.com Joe
  5. Every once in a while I take a shot in the dark looking to find where my horn from when I marched the Glassmen ended up. It is a Kanstul Powerbore soprano number 2733 or 2725. I heard they got sold east but haven't heard anything else about them. Any leads? Shoot me an email. Joe googanelli@aol.com
  6. I am already playing with the Cincinnati Tradition. I am looking to find a few more powerbores. Thanks for the invite though! -Joe

  9. There was a listing for the assets of the Marion Cadets being liquidated. I got a forward from Feihy Bank. The listing was on craigslist two weeks ago. Hopefully someone gets this and uses it! -Joe
  10. You know, everyone that says corps can't be define isn't reading into the noun which is the name we all read. Drun and Bugle Corps. The groups have certainly changed. I still want to see only raw talent and what the kids are actually doing on the field. Once you change the composition, it inherantly isn't the same. Bugles will always be bugles, drums, drums, and guard has always been a part of the pagentry because of the military presentation of colors. Saxophones, clarinets, cellos, etc aren't the composition of the title. I find it intriguing that the USMC has moved backwards to try and maintain the origins of drum corps. -Joe
  11. I remember seeing those parades on tv when I was in HS. Fall of 94 is when I first started marching. It would have been neat to have marched for that. Here's hoping the do it again! -Joe
  12. Was it the Thanksgiving day parade or New Years parade that had the All Star Corps? I am watching the parade and wondering what ever happened to the All Star Corps? Do people from all over come together to march in this parade now? -Joe
  13. It's not that your didn't march drum corps. It is drum corps. It isn't drum corps from what we marched and the kids behind you won't be marching the drum corps you marched in. I am certainly not trying to take anything away from your corps experience. I marched 3 valve bugles in the 90's and anyone before can say the exact same thing to me. It isn't drum corps from what they marched. I will still argue that the "trumpets" should still be built as bugles. Bugles are bugles are bugles. Trumpets are trumpets. Bugles will get a different sound than trumpets. It is less decernable on the lower end. I will say I HATE the electronics. And I do wish that parts of modern shows should contain elements of the past. Presenting colors, some symetrical drill, etc. I like a lot of the new things coming out. I just wish they would spend some time to keep traditions intact. Trooping the stands, retreat, etc. -Joe
  14. That is by and far the best desription of how many of my peers all view drum corps these days. The only similarity we shared with marching band in the past had been marching. Drum corps has and will continue to evolve into marching band summer circuit. My wife had a point that explains corps and where people stand on where it is going and came from. Everyone thinks that corps is perfect the first time they see it or experience it. Any deviation makes them uneasy. I think we are all fighting it but know it will occur. That is why I am now playing with a DCA corps that is marching bugles. I still want to carry on the traditions that were passed on to me instead of moving in a different direction. The kids today are still getting a similar experience and are imo getting a great education from their corps experience. I can say one thing though, when the woodwinds show , I will not. It's getting harder to relate every year to the corps that I marched in. I think that would be the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back for many old timers. -Joe
  15. I have been wondering over the last few years who is playing on my soprano? I have been looking for 2733 or 2725 for a few years and have been wondering, Who bought the Glassmen Bugles? Anyone out there in DCP world know? -Joe
