Awards was quite the party. Cavies took the field a-la-BD "absurdity" style (very good-naturedly though!), Crown's guard were having a lot of fun, and Mexican waves all along the stands....
And, as for the score announcement...
"Racing into second place, with a score of 98.100....... the Blue Devils"
About half a beat's silence and then the stadium went crazy. Truly amazing scenes. Even more so when the winning score of 98.125 was announced.
Closest ever, non-tying, DCI finals?
Phantom deserved it tonight... it was an outstanding performance. And kudos to the judges for "calling it as they saw it". With this level of margin, no one judge could have called the contest -- big respect to them too.
(SCV were flat, by the way. Coats had a cracker of a show and deserved the only other place switch of the night!)
