Bellbrook, OH -
Just in time for the DCP-I XII season, the Eagles announce their return to competitive Fantasy Drum Corps after taking DCP-I XI off. The Eagles were a founding member of FDCI and were a highly decorated corps that had been to finals multiple times, but the corps fell on hard times and had to fold. The world of Fantasy Drum Corps dearly missed this corps that always had in-your-face music and stunning visuals. After several years, the corps was brought back to life in DCP-I X for what was supposed to be a one season nostalgia tour and no one had any expectations for greatness. But the corps took off and quickly rose to the top of crop, making finals and placing 9th in its first year back from mothballs. The corps took last season off to reorganize, but is back with a vengeance this year with plans to return to its rightful place at the top of the fantasy drum corps world.
Joining with The Eagles are the Sparrow Regiment and the Chicken Scouts, the Open Class and A Class corps of the Eagles organization. These corps have a track record of success as well but are making their first venture into the DCP-I circuit. Sparrow Regiment was the first Div II champion in FDCI and have often challenged many larger corps. The Chicken Scouts are known for their very small size and their very big sound. While being one of the smallest corps in Fantasy Drum Corps history, they produce sounds that corps double or triple their size cannot. The three corps have formed the Birds Of Play (BOP) organization, even though each corps is headquartered in different cities.
The BOP corps will announce their repertoires at a later date, but rumor has it that each corps will be bringing back some of their "old school" favorites to please fans old and new.
