  1. This is just awful that people would vote for performing arts organizations over real charities that really need the money. I love drum corps, but it does not consume my life to the point where I will vote in favor of giving money to drum corps so kids can march and have fun instead of giving money to other charities so kids can eat, get the medical attention they need, etc. and survive. It is absolutely tasteless. It is materialism at its worst.
  2. Hypothetically, if someone were to acquire a couple of recordings of the Madison Scouts playing a couple of their show pieces from this year, and if that person were to release such recordings, would that person be held accountable to anyone aside from the consequently less-than-pleasant staff of the Madison Scouts?
  3. I know the economy makes it harder for corps and DCI to do what they do, but am I the only one that has a problem with voting for corps and DCI instead of other charities that can make an immediate difference in peoples' lives? I know that DCI has made a profound difference in many marchers' lives, and for that I am most respectful. However, these charities that could really use the money to make a difference in almost everyone they support in whatever way are having to compete with really nothing but competitive marching ensembles.
