Cry babies. Seriously, you people need to relax. Jolly ranchers were thrown. Fun was had. Roleplaying from the shows was done in retreat. The end is not nigh because of this, and your ######## definition of "classy" is still intact with the few corps who still adhere to it. The world is not going to end because corps x and y do not subscribe to your definition of what retreats should be.

If someone started throwing 90 MPH fastballs at me with handfulls of jolly ranchers, then yes I would. If they tossed them in a joking manner (fun, in drumcorps? Stop it!), then no I wouldn't be "offended" like so many up tight people in this thread claim to be. Stop pretending like people throw candy at retreats with malicious intent, hoping to damage equipment and make people cry. It's meant to be light-hearted fun and you know it.

This thread reaffirms the idea that we truly are becoming a nation of easily "offended" babies. Jolly ranchers? Oh no! Not doing exactly like corps x and y do? Double oh no! Crossing the holy yard lines during retreat? Sweet baby jesus! What would you people do if every corps treated retreat like the Cadets? Your source of entertainment (complaining over the internets) would be no more!

I'm just not understanding why standing completely still at retreat = class and vice versa. Who decided that - you?
