Not sure, but my guess would be the year that DCI did the ceromony honoring him. Oops, him being Col. Crawford. -

I don't see any mention by Michael Boo that is was new. I for one appreciate the fact that he took the time to post about it with a link. My grandma had a saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, shut your dang mouth!" -

Dang, by the time it took to get ready, I would have pee'd myself. I have seen or tried most every method mentioned here, except for the hole in the floor, sorry HairBear. Although I have seen something similar as a truck driver. Guy had a funnel, hose and hole in the floor, never stopped when he trucked. I agree with most, sure there were negative situations BITD, but I won't trade it for the world! -

I have an answer for you. DCI controls where the member corps (top 12) go on tour. The American International Open in Butler was boycotted by DCI, ticket sales dropped when the big guys stopped coming, show folds. -

I get a kick from watching the 1973 video on Santa Clara where Gail Royer says, "You don't have to know how to play an instrument, we'll teach you." Can you imagine someone showing up in Concord Ca. wanting to join the Blue Devils with absolutley no experience? -

I just got back from the Butler High School Alumni Band. It amazes me how many old time corps people are still around. Of course the Band Director is Andrew Yaracs and his sister Barb is asst. Director. He was the Vagabonds director and she was a DM. Our other DM from those days was there working security, he's a retired state cop. The ony two there from my graduating class, me included, are coprs alumni. Me with the Vagabonds and Laura who marched both CD of A and Woodpeckers. I saw in the stands at least three Vagabond alum who have kids in the marching band. Two of the band parents are corps alumni also. Small world. -

That's a coincedence, wasn't that the same two months you were a horn player also? Kidding, just breaking balls, that was too easy to pass up. You owe me one back. I still love ya Mike.
