  1. Taras was definitely an alum.....78-85 I believe. One the most talented people I've ever known!
  2. 1983 we marched 10....had planned on 12. 1982 we marched 10 through 1st tour. I believe 1979 started season with 12 and cut down to 10....Peter Theo's first year at age 16. Oh my bus mate in 82 was Chris Crockrell, and both 82 & 83 section leader was Todd Herrick.
  3. I agree with 1980 also, but I would put 1985 up towards the top. Everyone seems to over look that season. amazing shows in the top 4 ( top 5, if u throw in Cavaliers )
  4. Terrible news,I didn't even know he was sick. Geno, Tim M. and I roomed together in 82 Scouts in an apartment on University by Camp Randell....many good times! True story, Geno had the honor of carting us snare drummers all around that summer in his white station wagon and on the way to Whitewater for a clinic I lost my drum sticks because one of the floor boards was missing and you could see the highway from inside the car! Great guy... was wondering why we haven't heard much from him in the forums lately. He will be missed, R I P.
  5. Geno, is that not Rome N.Y. second tour? SCV tried to get us to play matched grip on a couple of exercises. not knowing we would switch the next year.
  6. Madison switched to matched for the 83 season. We learned about it half way through 2nd tour in 82. I do not remember any specific reason for it. It worked out well for all the ex-Guardsmen guys we had in 83 though!
  7. Thanks for the props Geno! No, I have not had contact with Tim in some time. By the way I have that same picture of our line in Montreal............52 degrees? I think your about 10 degrees to the high side. Do you remember warming up for finals with gloves on, some guys even had socks on their hands....GREAT MEMORIES. Crock looked a little rough!
  8. I second that Geno, though I might put it in the top two! I was standing six spots to your right that night on the field and I could not believe the amount of energy from the corps and the fans in the stands. The pre-runoff warmup was insane.....and if you remember i believe the Scouts lost both prelims and finals because of a penalty.
