  1. I would have to agree with you on that. They had an AMAZING 12 boys on riffle that year....I think that is the most they have ever had. That is my fav show...I had couple friends on the guard that year from my dance studio. This year I think Logan has 6 boys on the riffle line. I wasn't able to catch their regional this weekend, although I drove by and the place was packed. They only scored a 89 I believe but I think people and judges might hold them to higher standards because of who they are...just my two cents.
  2. I wouldn't count Logan out just yet......Mostly everyone on here has only had one chance to view them and that was at their very first regional in week 3. They have their Union City power regional this weekend so I bet the show is going to be much improved and I think everyone can make better predictions after their regional. Logan has turned out a championship performance each year at finals soI don't expect them to not do it again this year.
  3. Well it's different to what's out there in SW. I don't think Logan has hit their stride yet, this group never fails to deliver at finals so don't count them out yet. Bet that these kids don't want to be the first ones to lose the tittle for Logan in 11 years
  4. I don't know I just perfer more current music in soundtracks then to classical music, I think it gets the crowd going more....and yes I would choose Britney over Mahler anyday....gasp I think they actually fit Justin Timberlake's music pretty well into their 2003 Carmen lives show and ACDC into their 2002 TKO show....but that's just my two cents. I think I lean more towards Scott's show's because they were so different and just kinda out there, but I admit they were a little hard to follow at times....Loganation ( I still have no idea what that show was about but it was awesome lol). Mark's shows do seem to have a more clear concept imo.
  5. Well by playing it safe I just mean it seems like many guards are doing classical music pieces this year and it's like can we spice it up a little please? I do admit it must be hard to create a show to Avons music though and kuddos to them for that. I thought it was beauitful but the soundtrack track left something to be desired. Logan does have great soundtracks but I miss it when Scott was there, their soundtrack was so current, everything from Britney to Nate dog, AC DC, Justin Timberlake, Bijork.....
  6. "I really enjoyed James Logan's show. The ending was a bit odd (in terms of what they've done in the past) but I liked it alot. Different - and we need a TON of different in this activity. I don't know if they'll win in April (I'm still pulling for Avon), but it certainly will be a treat to see this show live. " I thought Avons show was beauitful and well done but I don't know, it was still lacking something special for me. I kinda thought it was a safe show imo. All these shows are starting to blend together for me and nothing stands out. I would say so far Logan is the only SW guard who took a big risk this year, even though some people might not like their show this year I give them kuddos for trying something different and not playing it safe.
  7. Really? I liked that part a lot, I thought it was really different and I liked the change in the music. Although I think they can clean that part up a lot, it didn't really read that well on video, but then again it was shot so up close that I can't really tell what type of formation they were in.
  8. Yea Logan is using purple this year too in their outfitt
  9. I agree with vantage point comment, it was way up too close for me. The gym looked really tiny and it looked as if the guard was ontop of the fans and judges!. I would like to see their show in a bigger venue, most likely it would look 10x better. It takes a couple viewings of their show to truly grasp everything that is going on, each time I watch it I like it more and more.
  10. Their show is up on WGI Network now...check it out. It's a little messy and a few drops but the season is just getting started so I expect them to get even better. Any thoughts about their show?
  11. Socres are up from the Ceres Regional! Top performers of the night were SVC with a score of 84.2 and James Logan with a score of 81.6 For the rest of the socres check out WGI So quick edit. Got the chance to read some reviews from some of the fans at the show and it appears last night was perhaps an off night for most of the guards, lots and lots of drops and Logan is included. Apparently it was an off night for the guard but their show was designed well enough to secure a solid score. Makes me wonder what their score would of been without all the drops... Any thoughts about the regional from any fans who were able to attend? Was it an off night? So edit again lol....I got the chance to see their show and I don't know why that person thought Logan was having an "off" night, I guess people expect them to be perfect 100% of the time, I guess it's the end of the world if Logan has two drops!. Yea so they had a couple drops but nothing horrible, I thought they covered up their drops pretty good almost to the point where I wouldn't of notice if I wasn't looking for it. I thought it was a great show and I LOVED the last couple of minutes.....sooooooo different from what other guards are putting out there. I just think they need to clean up their show though, it was a little messy in some parts, it needs to be a little more crisp.
  12. Logan will be attending their first regional this weekend and everyone will get the chance to see their new show "The Dreamtime". At their last performance at a CCGC show on 2/7 they received a 81.8 so I am curious to see how they will score this weekend. I think Logan has a very very good chance of reclaiming the top spot. Their show is so unique and there is nothing like it out there. After viewing most of the shows on the WGI network their show is a breath of fresh air imo. Also in attendance at the Ceres Regional are Beyer, In Motion, SCV, Homestead, Buchanan to name a few.
  13. A poster on world of pageantry was kind enough to post Logan’s show title and explain what the show is about. I got the chance to see it YouTube before it was removed but I had no idea what it was based off. So Logan's 2009 show is entitled "The Dreamtime". According to the websitehttp://www.crystalinks.com/dreamtime.html, the show is based off of The 'Aboriginal Dreamtime'. Aborigines have the longest continuous cultural history of any group of people on Earth - dating back - by some estimates - 65,000 years. Dreamtime is Aboriginal Religion and Culture. The Dreamtime contains many parts: It is the story of things that have happened, how the universe came to be, how human beings were created and how the Creator intended for humans to function within the cosmos, As with all other cultures - it speaks of Earth's Creation by Gods and Goddesses - some of whom were kind hearted - while others were cruel. The Aborigines called this potency the "Dreaming" of a place, and this Dreaming constitutes the sacredness of the earth. Only in extraordinary states of consciousness can one be aware of, or attuned to, the inner dreaming of the Earth. Their soundtrack is inspired by the Digeridoo, an wind instrument used by Aborigines of North Austrailia. Check out the website to view some pictures of Aboriginal Dreamtime to get an idea of what Logan’s show will be about.
  14. I actually got the chance to see a couple of the guards on the WGI network on their free preview day...I am way too cheap to spend $40.00 to view shows whenever I want lol. Anyways I thought Avons show was beautiful and very clean, I really enjoyed their show. However after getting the chance to view Logans show on youtube (it was removed a couple days ago) I want to go out on a limb and say I think they are going to get their 11th gold medal. Their show is total sensory overload, the colors just jump out at you, it's almost too much to handle lol, the person who recorded it joked on the video that she didn't think her camera could handle it =). They are outfitted in a one piece purple outfit with an orange skirt/sash with yellow lines on the front (almost looks like tribal paint). They use a shocking yellow for one part of their flag feature and a multicolored flag of the same colors they are wearing in another flag feature. I am not sure what the title of their show is but the audio was really bad on the video but I want to say that it sounded aboriginal. Lots of neat tricks going on, at one point some of the girls rap themselves in a black cloth on the ground and the riffle line boys drag them on the ground all the way across the floor while holding onto their riffles in their mouth. The video was shot from the back so I didn't get to see all the visuals but at the end a girl is dangling upside down by her knees on a bar that is lifted by two other member...anyways it looked great, even if was from the back
