  1. NVM, just a Boston guard mom who is now a Crown guard mom who was trying to explain in my original post that we should appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into each of these shows. As I said before, the fact that the kids are excited to perform it for all of us, whether we value it or not, is what makes me excited to watch it and thus it is all relevant to me. Enjoy the rest of the season.
  2. Don't let the name fool you, and next time you want to quote me, use the whole quote.
  3. So many people on here have knocked Crown for not having a "good" ending this year. Now they've changed it, partly to make it more exciting and fun to watch and partly to portray the "second chance" better, but oh we still complain. I for one, know the corps members are excited to perform this new ending for the audience and are working hard on it. That in itself makes it more exciting for me to watch. I can't wait to see it in Indy!!!
  4. I'm now a proud Crown Guard mom and far from the action of any of the parades that my son marched in this past weekend. I am happy to be able to see him via this videoclip...Thanks for posting, even if you did inadvertantly say something not so nice about my kid.
  5. Don't give up. Find out why they are against it and stay patient and calm while speaking to them about it. I thought my son was crazy! He is a viola player...why would he want to be in a drum corps? My son was you last year. I had very little idea what drum corps was until he asked me to take him to the Orlando show to see a friend perform who was in the HNC guard. I sat and watched and even enjoyed myself, all the while wondering why all these people around me were so fanatical about really loud marching bands. After a year of marching season, winter guard and drum corps auditions, my son is having the time of his life and I could not be more proud. What was his secret? He tricked me! No, seriously, he took it one step at a time and as I watched him overcome each barrier, or achieve another goal along the way, I started to hope for it for him. I now know that they are NOT really loud marching bands, they are so much more! Good Luck!
  6. Thank you from the proud parent of a BACCG member. I've chuckled at all of the comments made about the guard throughout the season, as well as wishing that some people had more class when speaking about young adults. I have forwarded the better ones to my son throughout the summer and this will be one of those. Your statement is about the entire corps and I am very glad for that. They all work hard to put on the best show possible knowing that the judges will not reward their performance. Enjoy Thursday. I know I will!
