No one wanted premonition to become the new NEI!! I was just expecting them to be more polished (which they were) b/c of the new staff, But I think they lost their identity in the process. I preferred Premonitions show last year!

NO NO NO.. NEI is my fav guard.. Favorite!!!!!!! I got angry every year they got screwed out of a medal. I just cant get over the fact that Premonition looks like an open version of NEI... look at the flagwork, the UNIFORMS!!!, the floor.. come one!!

Oh there are plenty that got screwed over in those classes, but not many people are familiar with all of them so I guess that is why World is talked about more frequently!

haha I was being facetious b/c of all the "Art" talk on the discussion boards, on behalf of the director and all the quotes in their show! But i do not care how many times art is said in the WGI mission statement, if you took the word out all together it would still make sense and anyone would still get the gist! for example: "WGI exists to foster positive experiences for all who participate, by promoting education, creativity, and freedom of expression through the unification of the marching industry, music education, and performing”. Same thing!!!!!!! I think Onyx's show is interesting and has some nice moments, but I think the issue at heart is people feel that they should not be scoring as high for it. Because if anyone else did it they would not be rewarded!

This is why i prefer the first 3 rows!

OMG OMG I saw that and thought, pretentious much...! We are a sport first... HAHA or at least entertainment..! The directors can be considered "artists" but the guard group isn't an artist!

I can see that, but Ars Nova deserved that spot! much more demanding show, more creative and they didnt look like any other guard that chose not to come out this season

Love this... they may be "affiliated" but yeah their staff had their noses in the air even as Onyx took the floor! I miss the Onyx that didnt win gold, you know like 09 and 08, not a fan of this new found "art"

yeah I would have never put Premonition into finals. I personally feel they had a much stronger show last year, and it kind of felt like I was watching NEI open. I think having the NEI's staffs names attached to that show helped it make finals. In my opinion, Diamante, Juxta, Paramount and Ars nova had more difficult and better shows! would have much rather seen them in their spot! The judging is inconsistent and they play the "who knows who, who is on staff" game.. They can say that they don't but I keep seeing good shows not make finals!!!!!

yeah she is very good! She is a prime example of under utilized talent. She spins extremely well, but too my knowledge she didnt touch any equipment. I for one would hate to pay to do colorguard and just dance the whole show!

I loved Carmel Alter Ego Ars Nova Paramount Zydeco Open and World Orlando Visual Lealta Fahrenheit Mt Juliet Trumbull Lots of good shows out this year! I am sad that Ars Nova didnt make finals.. 2nd year I feel they were screwed out of finals ;( There was some people getting shafted in the 1st round of World prelims and in World Semis!

I agree.. thus the "may" haha Im hopeing a few of them do, but I can see some of them not making it bc of all the competition. And I am just basing some of it on rankings

I agree, but I would like some color guard....(i,e flags, saber, rifle) I think the problem people are having with this show (at least for me) is its lack of work. There is too much movement, too much drill, not nearly enough work. I dont see much saber, or flag, and very little rifle. there are like 10-15 people spinning the whole show and the rest running around. I wonder what the show would look like it everyone had a piece of equipment in their hands and they were spinning together at some point

haha it was just a prediction.. I do not want them to win, having seen them live there isnt much to the show. I would LOVE SAC to win

So far it seems pretty clear that SCV will win GOLD Pacificaires will win GOLD Im hoping Carmel gets 1st

Oh I agree, they do it very very well.. never said they werent good.. I would just rather see a show on the DVD that I would watch! I'd like to see them step out of their box.. do a song thats NOT classical, and push themselves. Try a dark show, a song with words.. etc.. I've said the same for Corona as well.. the thing that sets them apart in my opinion is entertainment value. Corona puts on a good show, full of hard tricks, hard work (yeah they may have done them before) but it still takes good skill to be able to achieve them. I would just like to see a little variety w/ Opus. As far as finals go I think they are guaranteed a spot this yr, but I dont think they should have been in finals last year, I think Ars Nova was robbed. but Its all just a matter of taste I guess.

I would take Fahrenheit over Opus X in finals for sure. Much rather have an entertaining show than the same show I have seen every year since 2003. Unfortunately this year all the world guards are top notch.. I am rooting for them but I have a feeling they will not make it. Guards like Emanon and Paramount, Ars Nova all should be in finals, but there are very few spots I think these 3 will be fighting for that 15th place :( Can we have a top 20 please

OMG OMG I was thinking of posting the same exact comment!!!!!! like 10 minutes ago!!!! I was thinking if I were a judge Id ask them to stop with all the vocals ..its distracting!!!! I dont need a AHHHHH after every catch!

yeah they had a ruff weekend.. I would still place them above the 2nd Place guard!
