  1. I have been thinking over the last few months and I don't understand how come South Shore Drill Team isn't in the race for any of these community voting programs-Pepsi or Chase- those type of things I mean the article about South Shore from the New York Times (www.nytimes.com/2011/04/24/us/24cncdrill.html?_r=2) practically broke my heart, these kids work so hard and they have to come to Dayton like that?! it just isn't right. Does anyone else think this way or am I a bleeding heart?
  2. Texas is in great need for some great instructors! Check out Texas Colorguard Circuit (TCGC) Texas educational colorguard association (TECA) North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA) somewhere in the lone star state is that lone school just waiting for you!
  3. I highly recommend going to skyline chili while you're in ohio, they mix chili with spaghetti and cinnamon, you'd think it would be nasty but it's actually really good!
  4. I'm fairly new to this website, can someone please explain or give me the back story of mr(ms?) st.jacque? who is (s)he? where did (s)he come from? has he actually performed or directed anywhere? please help cut through the haze of mystery surrounding the great sebastienne thank you.
  5. the James Bowie HS Juliets have pretty hair and pretty smiles Claudia Taylor Johnson has a pretty (crazy) set Identity Open's girls have pretty dresses and pretty hair Identity A has a nice floor ATX has a nice, fun, silly show Spring HS has a very nice and talented ballerina Oak Ridge has some very good soloists (apparently at Dallas the director was literally jumping out of his chair for most of it, he wa so proud of his girls)
  6. texas guards: James Bowie from Austin I hear is a very young group and only having attended one regional and barely making finals, I'll be cheering for them if they make semis Claudia Taylor Johnson with their massive set, maybe in for a massive letdown Dawson High School is playing it safe and with the fact they haven't placed very high all season their long trip to Ohio might be for nothing, also why on earth is their director taking both guards?! their JV group is a regional A in their local circuit?! Mansfield from north Texas, despite the fact that these kids have a ton of passion and character, I'm worried they've been bitten off more than they can chew in terms of execution all of the regional runs Ive seen have been shaky as for independent groups: ars nova world with their confusing show concept (big sky, what does it mean?!) and scantily clad girls while they are a crowd favorite, 'm not sure how they'll fare in the chilled midwest identity A and Open: Identity open has been changing their program in some aspect every week and the members seem to have trouble keeping the changes in their hands identity a is a very young guard, they have fairly achievable books, they just look so bored and flat while performing until their ending feature when out of nowhere cheesy plastic smiles erupt on their faces, they need to do something about that. these are just my two cents good luck to everyone just in case
