    So I guess the answer for all the "dinosaurs" is to start an old time circut. No electronics. No color guard dance routines. No pit. No woodwinds G bugles only Tick system scoring Start and finish lines with inspection. REALLY? If someone could pull it off then it MAY work. I would even march it! BUT As much as I do not like all the changes in drum corps, some may have prolonged it. I do find it funny that many people who complain about these changes are still spending their dollars by attending shows! It is what it is.

    Modern history has drum corps with collage music majors instead of kids from the street. Given that DCI corps kids DON'T EVEN COME FROM THE SAME GEOGRAPHICAL AREA OF THE CORPS THEY MARCH WITH! This year Boston had I believe 4 members from the Boston area! WHAT CAUSED THIS? WE took kids from the towns that were not into sports as we knew them. Baseball, football and basketball. This left a void that drum corps filled. Then came soccer. ANY kid can kick a ball whether they have ability or not. Band directors have always been AGAINST drum corps. AND MOST STILL ARE! SO, where do we get members from? Most of todays youth would much rather spend hours playing video games rather than take a chance on joining something they have to work hard at. We are not dead yet, but our activity may soon be!

    St Kevins is still on G horns, and hopefully that is what we stay on! I believe Boston Crusaders Senior is also G.

    Yes I remember.... Nothing like sitting in the stands with wind driven rain at 50 mph! Gave up after 3 corps and went back to the hotel to dry out. We did get back in time for the top 5 corps, so it was not a total waste! Ah, drum corps memories!

    YUP Even us guys with the funny hats are in the I&E! Melha Shriners Drum Ensemble. We are looking forward to a great time with lots of quality competition!
