I think you are 100% wrong. Premonition was fun, in your face and entertaining before this season. Now they are NEi Open and you know it. I personally like the old Premonition better. Every year I loved them. This year, yawn. Shame on premonition for changing their entire style for Jill & Robby

This was out of line. There is NO WAY that Opus 10 was more talented, or creative than Corona, or Zydeco. That was insane that they beat Corona. Opus 10 had the weakest book, show design, and movement of all world class. who is their staff blowing on the wgi board?

Premonition was boring, weak spinners, weak performers and too many breaks on easy work. That was an A Class book. Maybe next year Jill and Robby can bring In Motion into world class finals with their name.........YAWN

You know over the years guards have made it in that didn't deserve too, because of who their staff is. However the crowd just goes insane over certain programs, and I think they were not treated fairly. I think Juxtaposition and Fahrenheit should have been in and Onyx, Beatrix and Opus 10 should have been out. Onyx you either loved em or hated em, I hated em. It was not colorguard or art. It was a kick in the face to all those guards who actually spun in their shows and entertained the crowd and were not in finals for that crap to be in there. This is Art, boring no one cares about The Flies and the fly squatter. Opus 10 was weak, boring, and dirty. I didn't care for it! Anyone else notice in Betrix' show that the girl playing Anne Frank, picked up a gun and played a Nazi then went back to playing Anne Frank? I think Michael James is extremely talented, extremely. However, he has not stepped out of the box ever. It is always the same style show. I would love to see his take on a fast in your face show. Sorry if I made it sound like he is bad. He is just repetitive. As far as my post about Fahrenheit. I am in no way involved with them, or do I know anyone on the program. I just seem to love the excitement they bring to the floor. I have only been to FL shows however I am going to WGI so I am excited to see everyone else. Lets hope we are all entertained, in our OWN ways.

Ok so is anyone else bored with Winterguards these days? I sat through FFCC Champs yesterday and SFWGA Champs Saturday and I was bored to death with WGI show concepts. Why is everyone playing the game with such DEEP shows. life is not ALWAYS about oil spills, death, abortions, suicide, cancer, or racism (Michael James that was all geared towards you). I watched talented guar after talented guard do these shows that are so dreadful and depressing to watch. I think out of both circuits Flanagan had a fun show, Gainesville Ind had a wonderful fun show and Fahrenheit World tore the roof off the gym with how fun and entertaining they were. I know people are going to argue that they like slow boring shows because they are beautiful blah blah blah but lets cut the ####, When Fahrenheit ended their show the entire stands jumped to their feet. The crowd yelled throughout. Same for Gainesville Ind but way more for Fahrenheit. As good as Braddock and Premonition are, its clear by the audiences response that they would RATHER watch Premonition and Braddock do shows more fun and upbeat like Fahrenheit is doing this year. Why do the judges NEVER look at how the audience reacts. Those judges must have to scream on their tapes to be heard during Fahrenheit's show, the audience just lost their #### when Fahrenheit was on. Don't get me wrong I know which guard spins better and moves better however I am sick of falling asleep at shows. Thanks Fahrenheit for waking me up yesterday at the end of the show. I was tired and falling asleep. I must also say the audience around me was having a count down to how many guards were on until Fahrenheit. They were well anticipated. Also thanks Flanagan for smiling this year. Makes me feel better.

UM......Orlando Visual got bumped to Open and won the southeast regional, they are great and Pacificaires could never hold a candle to Ventures who were a strong canadian guard who never got a medal in open class and were screwed year after year, I cant imagine pac winning open. They re great however no way near as good as open guars from 08-09 and 10 USF should be up there also. I think 2 FL open class medals would be great

So going by these rankings its seems like 14th-23rd Place could go ANY WAY. I don't think one guard is more of a shoe in than the other. I truly think this year it will come down to who comes out, is different, who is clean, who performs their best and who leaves it all on the floor. I can't say I agree at all with Opus X where they are at. They are just OK, they set no new standards. Black Watch should be MUCH Higher. Cypress (looks like an old Michael James show), First Flight, Diamante looks like Corona Open, not a world guard this season, Premonition (NEi Open not world class level, but I guess Jill and Robby teaching them boosted their score) and Paramount are all scored too high IN MY Opinion. I am sure everyone else has theirs that is just mine. Braddock, SCV and Fantasia are my Top 3 this season by fay. Between 22nd and 16th place there is a 2 point difference, and Imbue is not going to Ohio so anything can happen. This should be exciting. Please do NOT Bash my opinion, it is just how I feel inside. Thats all, no hard intended! Fahrenheit! They are in it to break into the top 15. This show HAS to be on that DVD, it is so entertaining! I love it! Also Braddock is great, I love them!

Fahrenheit World started strong, did a ton of changes and rumor has it they are gunning for a top 15 spot. I know one of their instructors who said their staff was in tears during their run throughs this weekend because they have improved so much. Seeing this show live it is one you have to see live. These performers are all about performing and bring the audience to their feet. I look forward to them at this Orlando/Tampa regional. Can't wait. Also Braddock is amazing live, can't wait to see them either. Premonition is good just very boring to watch live. I miss their in your face shows, but Fahrenheit brought the entertainment this year!

Michael James in Central Florida has reused the same exact floors, poems, quotes, music, voiceovers, designs, costuming, equipment book and movement every single year. He is in no way inventive. Every one of his guards do the same thing every year. Not my version of interesting

Orlando Visual and Gainesville Independent were bumped to Open between prelims and finals at the Orlando regional. Orlando Visual is stunning.

Sorry wasn't trying to sound argumentative. I just really am passionate about guard becoming a fun activity again. Many slow song guards are amazing and needed. Just throwing some upbeat fun in there more often would be nice :)

Can you name 10 colorguards in the past 5 years in IND World Class finals that did a show that involved FUN, upbeat music with smiles on their faces? Not slow pretty smiling, I mean in your Face, smiling, aka Escapade Circa 1993 style???? I can't even think of 5, I think 1 out of every 100 guards does a FUN show. Going to a local circuit show I want to off myself by the time I get through Scholastic A class. Why are they all so slow and boring. people say thats playing the A Class "Game", hmmm anyone remember St.Ann's A Guard 1996 With their Cirque d Soliel show? They had FUN, I can't think of many guards since then that have FUN in that class. Its all getting too serious. Sure everyone loves technique, but the dreadful shows are taking over and making the activity hard to watch
