  1. Indeed Jim. . .I keep waiting for him to actively comment. . .throwin' him teasers now and then. . .BROTHER DAVE. . .YO, BROTHER DAVE!!!!! :mmm:
  2. Yep, calls himself Head Animal. . .this is what he wrote to me: 'What else....Head Animal....from the dark times...before the Empire....the "evil Dave" :<) I have to admit...every time I go to an outing and see a closed cooler I have the uncontrollable urge to step up on it and cry out "We are gathered here.......toooodaaaaayyyyy.....to ask ourselves a question. HOW LONG!!!! are these corps gonna keep kickin our ### on the field of competiton....HOW LONG? NOT LONG...." Sorry...I went away for a while but I'm back now.'
  3. RL, I don't know exactly where in Ohio Dave lives. But he did send me a note to say that he registered in DCP (I sent him the link) and posted a couple of things. We might have to hunt around for him but he knows we're here!
  4. I drop Dave an email from time to time. . .he's living in Ohio and sort of changed life a bit. . .sort of went a bit religious. But much of the old Dave is still in there. He sends some interesting stuff my way. . . .I'll tell him about DCP. . .see if he's interesting in getting in to say hello to all. . . The Boston trip. . .the coup-de-gras was Templin trying to calm down the hotel manager, a dude with a rather large girth, by poking him in the rather large girth. That ended it all with the manager wanted to press assault charges against Rich!! ^OO^
  5. Nope. . .it WAS Skip Groff I was talking about. . .he did Westshore's hornline for a while way back. But I know Skip Rizzuto too. . .funny guy but I haven't seen him in about 5/6 years.
  6. Still got the ones I had as a kid and the ones my Dad had! They were in the Corps colors, with the name on one side, you city/state on other, some had the Legion or VFW patch or the Corps emblem..####!! Darn... Guess I am showing signs of age Described to a "T". . .I have no idea what ever happened to mine!! . . .and yes. . .signs of age! :P
  7. Wow. . .I was right! And some great memories. . .I had forgotten the Keystoners and those pink unis. How could I ever forget them. And yes, it is the bearded wonder but I'm not sure most would refer to me in such exalted terms!!!
  8. I'm sure this has been settled as I haven't worked my way through the entire thread but here goes. . . The York White Roses were, for a long time, a junior corp from York, Pa. competing against the likes of Blue Rock, an excellent early junior corps. Paul Titel, a great friend of mine was a member and I believe instructor at one point. I believe Skip (ahhhhh heck, what is Skip's last name) was a member and instructor. Rich Templin was a member. . .maybe even Bill Toomey, though I'm not quite as sure about Bill. Anyhow, definitely York, Pa.
  9. Anybody remember what identified you to a corps? The old "pisscutters". . .(geez, where'd that name come from??). All the OLD corps had them. Corps colors, tassle, wore them to parties at Legions, VFWs, the Moose establishments. Not much of a story. . .more like a memory, I guess.
  10. Okay, tried to edit it and it keeps taking me into Ben's reply!!! Weird. What I meant to say what about a half mile on the left. I attended a number of the RCA meetings. If I remember correctly, Chuck Saia probably has a lot of corporate historical knowledge of RCA. . .as would Hershman. It was actually a very good circuit, large membership, like Jim says, like the training ground for DCA hopefuls. Some great competition especially between Westshore and Erie. I remember some great Championship competition at the stadium in Erie. . .that bowl like stadium? I can't remember the stadium name but I liked the site.
  11. That's a true story. The bar/restaurant was off of 283, turn left at the light, go about a mile and about a half mile on the left.
  12. Not sure...except I marched in it for a few "Halloween" Parades! Maybe we should get the 37th Regiment Alumni Corps going for Halloween parade season! hahaha!!! Oh, that's right! It WAS a halloween parade corps fund raising gig! Good memory!
  13. Oh. . and Jim. . .I remember a bunch of stuff about RCA but couldn't give even the remotest hint on where to find information.
  14. Were the Hamburg Kingsmen the NY Kingsmen that wore the orange sequened vest?? If so, well, even if not, man did I love that corps!!! B)
  15. Hey guys, whatever happen to Steve Myers' sidekick Lauren Harper? Anybody ever see her around?
  16. Chris. . .Virtual DL is great. . .absolutely great. Thanks again for getting me there!!! ^OO^ B)
  17. Jim, pretty good representation of history. Although another reason the Bonnie Scots was dropped was because of the musical option limitations caused by the Scots' name. We were looking to be musically more versatile. We couldn't be as musically diverse the other way! But you did a good job there!!!
  18. Absolutely!!! My uncle Danny started it. My sister Lisa, Frank, my brother Jamie, my brother Mike for a little while, my sister Tina. . .all marched.
  19. Yeah, I think that whole thing came about because of the disappearing act by Robb Mueller, right?
  20. Ben, I just read your signature. . .there's an error. . .or at least my recollection would imply that it's an error. . . "1989- present Normal" Can't be true!!!
  21. :D Great point! I hear Chris now. . .talking with Gina; ". . .no man, it's Ream's fault. . .really, it's Jeff's ####### fault. . ."
  22. Moyer!!!???? Oh no!!!! Oh, and I notice your posting hours have changed significantly!!! Must be job related!!! :P
  23. Mr. Fillipelli! Always a pleasure you old dog! I hear congratulations are in order, something about the KIDA life time achievement award or an oscar or something??!?! I still have a few friends in KIDA. . .indeed, somehow they saw fit to elect me to their Hall Of Fame. I'm still honored and probably will be forever.
