  1. NAME ONE PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT WOULDN'T HAVE SUSPENDED HIM IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE. Congrats...you have money. Donate it to his legal fees to clear his name.
  2. Do you HONESTLY think that DCI would have allowed him to continue without being suspended??? Or did you want to see your beloved corps banned from DCI?
  3. I guess that means you were around her and Sean during her time at YEA to know exactly what was said or not said. Maybe she used not so damning words when talking about the harassment that was taken like every single other YEA employee complaining about GH and he thought it was more of the same. Point is, you nor I were not around every day in the office. You can't 100% say for sure what she said or he said. I hope he is found innocent, but her allegations MUST BE LOOKED INTO.
  4. If you want to raise holy hell, either contact the news reporter (which it appears you have not yet) to yell and scream your point and show her the truth, contact the victim and shake her down for the facts, or let the board handle it. DCP isn't going to help you with getting the truth out since it isn't a news organization.
  5. Devils advocate: He acted against the other employee because they were lower on the totem poll, but not against his boss. Argument is not null as you wish it to be.
  6. I don't see how they twisted anything to make you appear to support GH. They just said in this current climate we have to take the victims at 100% of their word.
  7. I totally understand your frustration, I haven't interacted with him personally, but from what I've gathered from a far and from others he seems to be a man of character. 2 things I see could have happened. She didn't mention anything to him and made that part up. It's possible. The other thing I see could have happening, she may have just said as a small concern (in his eyes) that George is making her a little uncomfortable, and his response was that GH is innocent, he is that way with everyone. Do I believe he purposely brushed aside a major concern of hers. NO. But, it may have come off as a small plea for help, and innocently enough, he looked to make her feel comfortable rather than bringing the issue up with GH. It is completely understandable, but with ALL of these stories and allegations and the alleged victims of his horrendous behavior, sometimes the bad optics are going to win, and right now a man of high moral character is (hopefully temporarily) is paying the price of another. I understand you give $$,$$$'s of dollars, and you may withhold that. BUT...put yourselves in the new board's shoes. What are they supposed to do when a current employee is shown in a negative light? The board can't condemn GH on one hand and allow him to stay on. That's horrible press, and I guarantee you the PR firm working with them said they at least have to suspend him. In the end, we have to hope the full truth (no matter what it is) comes to light.
  8. I hope the truth is what everyone goes on, but getting rid of Sean King may be out of people's hands. It's called bad optics. Sometimes that wins over truth unfortunately. .
  9. It's not the organization making a victim of Sean King...why would that impact your donation?
  10. Whoops, my final graduate paper that is due Monday is sucking all the grammar out of me.
  11. I do agree with you however that the DCA statement is not good. He was officially their director for the last couple of years, even though it was really being directed by someone else, it still does concern a high profile person in a very recent past champion. Maybe its a mixture that all of the alleged incidents happened with Cadets and not C2, and all of them (that have been reported) occurred before the creation of C2, but probably could have had a little more bite to the statement, but then again, DCA does not have full-time staff as far as I know unlike DCI.
  12. YEA isn't going anywhere, especially with this new board, one that has many alumni on it.
  13. I do apologize, it was super snarky. One of those things were you think something is funny and forget to turn on the ######## filter.
  14. While I don't doubt there may be a lawsuit or three out of this, from what I read, most of the woman just wanted him out of the corps. Also, even more reason for them to get a lot of money from everyone. No one will want to see the new YEA suffer for the sins of their former leader.
  15. Your skills of finding out wrong information wins again. They did put out a (very brief) statement yesterday.
  16. Exactly, with GH now gone, I fully expect annual donations to substantially increase, with this year being especially a good year for donations.
  17. I can't see the article since apparently I've viewed too many free articles, but Sean King was put in place by either the old board or by GH. While this definitely not good optics, his title is interim after all.
  18. How so? Cadets have a long history which means lots of alumni and historically they have always donated very well. In fact, I think this will encourage them to donate as well as bring more alumni and other Cadet fans out of the woodwork to support the corps. Everyone likes to say this will kill the corps. Remember, as every news article has stated, drum corps has a small following and eventually it will fade (but not forgotten).
  19. Can always go back to that ugly, cramped hall (VFW or AL post?) in Garfield.
  20. Slight mis-information, they weren't based in Garfield for all 70 years, based in Bergenfield for the last 15-16 years.
  21. While I'm not sure how much the board will really impact the day-to-day workings of the Cadets and YEA!, reading their bio's, why they were chosen, and the entire press statement has me feeling a little positive in this horrendous situation.
