  5. A kickstarter type program can be used to get the museum off the ground.
  6. Where are you located? The size of the school is no major issue. The museum could be co-located with another non-profit organization.(The museum could lease the excess space, and reduce operating/ownership costs)
  7. We may set up a skype session for people who can't make it. Keep in touch, and we will keep you updated.
  8. Large church/religious properties would work also. There are a lot of those for sale in the Midwest, and east coast.

  15. It should be a stand alone entity that represents the entire spectrum of Drum corps activity. It should not be affiliated with one single competition organization.
  16. Very cool. I hope your corps "Lives long, and Prospers"
  17. I wonder why the University of Alabama football team needs to fundraise? (This question is not a negative to what you guys are doing, just asking the question.) The number one college football team in the nation doesn't seem to be hurting for money, with season tickets presold years in advance, most games sold out, and tv networks dying to throw money at them. Are they fundraising for another non-profit org, and letting the other org use the U of Alabama name to draw interest?
  18. I love that Idea! The Butler PA show was a really good show, and had a long history. The idea should be kicked off by people here on Drum Corps Planet. I am in the middle of organizing a foundation for new, and small drum and bugle corps, and some work on a Texas Region of the SDCA. I could also include work on a Drum Corps museum.
  19. I like a permanent museum/Hall of Fame located in Madison Wisconsin, or on the East Coast. Madison, because it has a long history of Drum and Bugle Corps, Drum Corps world is there, and is well known in Drum and Bugle corps circles. However, the East Coast has the same, and more.(primarily a longer history of Drum and Bugle corps.) Maybe the New Jersey/New York/Pensylvania area? A surplus school with a stadium/football field would work great. Shows (DCI, WGI, etc.) could be held there as fundraisers for the museum/Hall of Fame.
  20. Hello all, I am Cortez Moore, SDCA Texas, acting region director. I am hoping we can help some corps here in Texas survive, and thrive, and maybe help the activity grow here in Texas, and other areas. I welcome any and all comments/criticisms/suggestions, etc. I am open to anything that helps the Texas region of the SDCA, and Drum Corps in general, grow, and get better.

  24. The herd of Pronghorn deer than ran alongside/hopped besides our bus for 2 miles in Wyoming. The mother bear (and cub) that attacked our bus at a Colorado rest stop near Vail. A staff member came running from the woods in the mountains. He was screaming, and telling everyone to get on the bus. We all got on the bus as the very angry bear came out of the woods. The cub came running after her., and the mother bear started trying to get in the bus, by pawing at the door that the staff member had run into. We drove off, and she chased us for about 30 yards, snarling and growling along the way.
