  3. They aren't going to stream it live, but it will be a Video on Demand (VOD) that you can watch if you're a Basic Subscriber to the Fan Network. Hope that helped!
  4. I wish I'd seen that sooner. I went ahead and e-mailed support@dci.org. Thank you :)
  5. I did, and I am very happy I got the recordings... if not for one reason than for the other that I helped support a handful of corps and skywhopper, thanks for letting me know that they'll reimburst me... I had no idea. Is there a time limit as to when you can do that?
  6. Thank you :) I was just hoping I wasn't basing my opinions of everybody's performances on something that wasn't at its full potential.
  7. Being a relatively new fan of drum corps, I have been trying to get my hands on as many audio performances of shows from this year as I can. Now, seeing the many changes that various corps have made to their shows, I feel like I've wasted some money. Should I throw away the APDs I have now and wait till the end of the season to get them? Another reason I bought audio so early was because of the price... 2.99 is a lot more appealing to me than 3.99, but not if the quality is not as good as it could be by August, or the show is different in any respect. What do you think?
  8. I'm in love with Phantom's show this year.. it's so lyrical and it just flows so well. I can't think of a thing about it I don't like.
  9. Bridgemen 1979! or pretty much any year probably Pagliacci almost broke my headphones ;)
  10. Definitely. If anything, it will be super duper close between those corps... or some different ones might surprise us. Who knows :)
  11. I really appreciate the ability of different people to maintain such good coordination for such an extended amount of time. Maybe it's like this: Horn players pay more attention to the hornline Percussionists pay more attention to the drumline/front ensemble Guard pays more attention to the guard. As a mellophone player, I personally find myself listening to the mellophones in an ensemble more than anything. Back on topic... the Cadets have a great show this year, and I definitely see them in the top 3 along the the Cavaliers and probably the Blue Devils. I really think that in the end it'll be close between the Cavaliers and the Cadets.
  12. On that note, my friend in Denver went to Drums Along the Rockies last Saturday. She's never seen a drum corps show, ever. Only heard what I've told her. She said she didn't even really watch the guard. Said the most interesting thing to her was how well the hornline and drumline played while moving so quickly and meshed together to make each other sound great. I guess it just differs on a person to person basis.
  13. Spartacus in 2008 was great because it was a throwback to 81 and 82, and because they really put an artistic twist on it (I think). It was great because the mood of the music DEFINITELY matched what the guard was doing, and as the show went on, the moments where the hornline got involved made sense, and the involvement of the drum majors was the icing on an already fantastic cake. I think it just depends on the context of the show, and how much storytelling is involved. @skywhopper - I totally agree... sometimes, it's better to just hear music than to have to focus on whatever the guard of others are trying to convey to the crowd. The music is what really does it for me.. not the story behind the music.
  14. Spirit could have a chance. Right now they're really neck and neck with the Troopers, and if they can clean their show and hope the Troop misses a few spots... which they probably won't, they could definitely have a chance. I also really like the Troopers' infinity chord at the end... it's pretty bad (the good bad)
