Finals , thru multiple viewngs has become maybe my favorite show of the year

Watching scores as a fan I get. As a marching member I would be shocked if 70% checked scores on a daily basis. The good thing about as you said, as long as the member grew, matured, gained improvement. I will openly say I did not like crown early on this year. The more I saw them, live and thru internet and Flo. I must say, that hornline is for the ages. They brought it this year. Despite the mic problems they still brought it. Despite the finals mishap, they worked though it. Especially the vocalist. It would have been easy to tank it. But they did the BEST they had at their hand at that moment.

BTW, you bring up a nice questions. Kudos. I am interested in the responses. I had a bud that bowled a perfect game in bowling and won a major world tournament. A few year later, he won another tournament in the professional/world. He did not throw a perfect game. But said it was the best he ever threw a ball.

Best to me means the best you can be. Nothing else. If you gave all, score or placement does not matter. I will give an example I just had a conversation with a FMM I marched with, and his son that just finished with Cadets. In 86 we faced adversity,and after all was said and done finished 4th. MY buds son finished 7th this year. There is no way in hell, that our 86 corps could compete with this years Cadets. I know different times. Best is the best YOU can be. Work your ### off and be proud. Be it 1st 0r 50th. If you can walk off the field knowing you did your best. Nuff said.

Exactly. As much as we all tend to despise the IRS, they do their job. Stop illegal activities etc. AS Jeff said, If it was found that "those" activities were happening. You would see a steamroll of every drum corps by the IRS.

Do not take my response the wrong way. I just know of way to many circumstances where leaks happen and are not true and hurts the individuals career. I understand you have good purpose. IMHO, I just think it is not a good idea here. Just my thoughts. Wish you well but I do not think you are going to get the response you are looking for.

Yeah tell that to SCV 89 :) I agree, there is so much out there musically. Why rehash. I think in this day and age it goes deeper legally into copyright issues. I will say, and said before, what Bluecoats did this year musically, using a basically not popular progressive bands music, Thank You Scientist. I know them personally and they were enthralled to have Bloo use their music. I would bet my life that after hearing Bloo's take, people checked out Thank You Scientist and they have more fans because of it.

I think MikeD summed up the Bobby gig. I, as I have actually told him numerous times sometimes agree with portions his opinions. HOWEVER, insulting marching members, staff, (especially apparently 1 director he has a beef with) will not further his cause. He can beat his chest, write wholes pages of diatribe etc. If you love the activity of past and are not happy do something about it rather than insult the aforementioned but long standing members here then find another way
