  8. We are pleased the corps will be back in uniform for the first time in two years for Canada Day in our home town. This is the beginning of a number of gigs in Eastern Ontario and Northern NY. State over the next 2 months. To all our friends south of the border best of luck in your upcoming season and down the road who knows eh............ Cheers DLD
  9. Hey Bill, They are a beautiful drum in our opinion as well.........what makes them unique is the finish. Yamaha makes it for kits but not for marching percussion because of the bass drum diameter needed. I hope you get a chance to see them again with the Grennie uniform under the carrier. Each serial number on each drum starts with KG. The look is a total credit to Scott and Yamaha Canada. Cheers Don
  10. A big thanks to Yamaha Canada and Scott Atkins for all the help and the promotional material is really cool. All involved will be very pleased. Just building a better future for a better tomorrow. Cheers DLD
  11. Jason Parent is going to be there to pass on some tips Adam so you will be leaving with some chops. Get ready! Cheers DLD

Carleton Place Marching Saints 74.1 Smiths Falls Lamplighters 67.3 Crescendo`s 61.6 Grenadiers 70.0 Imperial Knights 67.35 The show was on September 18th/71......brrrrrrrrrrrrr lucky we didn`t forget the show and it didn`t snow!haha No mention of Lindsays score although they were there. Cheers Don
  14. Good-day folks, Some Kingston staff moved from Grennies in 1974 to Belleville Yardman in hopes of improving the corps in RCA. After that season, which was a tough one and discussions between the Late John Raymond and and the late Hugh Bondy it was decided the 2 organizattions amalgamate hence the Grenadier Yardmen. The Yardman name based on a successful lottery based in Belleville which was their sponsor as well. We took on a staff largely influenced by Cadets La Salle and operated for the next 2 years which a much larger corps than any of us could imagine from our area. The demise of the corps at that time (76) as I saw in years after was 2 fold. The relative lack of a successful showing in Hamilton that year although the corps was beginning to gel and John`s missed opportunity which was taking the corps to DCA`s which would of been a top ten finish. This was always a motivating factor when I took over as director in the early 80`s. By the mid 90`s both Dave Orser and I thought the time was right to move ahead. We competed in 95 and finished 12th ahead of Dynamic and began our journey to the top 10.We are proud of being in the top 10 for longest of any corps from Canada and the first to take a DCA Class A championship out of the US. As far as the Parade Of Drums John..............3 senior corps as you mentioned and 2 "Junior Corps" my wife tells me "The Ventures" and Peterborough Crescendo`s. Cheers Don
  15. Sure is exciting Adam.....we will be releasing this years show shortly...something that you are very familiar with...........save it for the release eh......... Cheers DLD

  22. Thanks for the reminder I believe the passport is manditory if you arrive by air or sea for 2007 and the following year it will be required at land crossings. They only search for Canadian Beer. Can`t blame them. Cheers DLD
  23. It is an orientation day to educate and inform. This will include some playing demo`s as well. Our tech`s will be happy to answer any questions you might have. We will also have several of our caption heads in attendance as well. The day is a start to re-energize drum corps in Canada as our grass roots have become weak and as folks hang on to the past which is fine, what is really needed is to move to the future. Hope this helps. Cheers DLD
