  1. Ok, so here are my two cents worth. In all honesty, every thing that has been said in this forum is a personal opinion, which if you take the words of what someone once told me " Opinions are like peoples @$*holes, we all have them and 9 out of 10 stink." So with that said here is my opinion. If you choose to like Crown, you like Crown. If you choose to not like Crown, you choose to not like them. No one can force you either way. Like previously stated, you can listen to a CD or watch a DVD all day and all night and then talk about what you hear and or see, but nothing can compare to watching a corps show live and in person. You can see the intense looks of dedication and intensity on the faces of the corps members as they are entering the stadium to take the field and perform for the crowd. Thats right, they do not just "wander around" as someone said and just play loud all the time, they perform the show. Go to the lot and watch a corps warm up. Go to a rehearsal site and watch the corps rehearse. Take a moment and look on the faces of the corps members as they take the field. I honestly in my humble opinion think that if you do either one of those, it can possibly change the way that you look at a show when it is being presented on the field. As for the shows themselves, there never has, nor will there ever be, a show that will please everyone in the stands or even the judges for that matter. For everyone who says that they can play the music better than Crown, by all means go ahead and try to do it. I do not see you on the field with Crown marching their show and playing their music , but I do see you sitting at your computer complaining about how they play the music or how they march on the field. To the person who said that it was borderline disrespectful of the audience to not applaud BD, but scream and yell for Crown...once again A PERSONAL PREFERENCE!! No on had a gun to their head and made them clap for one but not the other. To the ones who said that is was disrespectful of the crowd to "go crazy" over the correction when they announced the Jim Ott Award this past season, it is all just a matter of their personal likes and dislikes. Carolina Crown nor The Blue Devils had anything to do with that. That was simply a mistake on the announcers part. Look at the photos that were posted after awards. You see a sea of cream mixed with a sea of blue before BD does a victory run. That to me shows that the two corps respect each other enough to congratulate each others successful season. To the person who stated that Carolina Crown has nothing to offer from a visual stand point....lets see...at the end of the night at 2012 Finals.... There was a tie for the John Brazale Best Visual Performance Award between Blue Devils and Carolina Crown. Crown also was 2nd in visual effect. So how can a person say that the corps has nothing to offer visually? Which leads me to my final point. The person who said that they could not understand or that they did not think that Crown was a contender for the DCI World Championship..lets once again go back to that August night in Indianapolis when at the end of the night....wait for it...........wait for it................... Carolina Crown won Music Effect, Visual Proficiency, Brass and Music Analysis.
  2. 2010 and 2011 were both uniform changes for Crown. Their uniform changes from year to year to match the show.
  3. From what I have seen and heard at the past 6 camps, this years show will in my humble opinion be one of the most memorable shows of the year.,I am excited to be a part of this organization, and am looking forward to this summer.
