  1. Hey guys I tried really hard to convince my mother to go the January of February camps to no avail. It took a lot of convincing to just let me do the camp next year. But I am implementing your advice. I run for at least 20 minutes a day. I practice for an hour at the least. I ordered the Arban's book and H.L Clarke book. I've officially entered into my training period Wish me luck!
  2. A world where when people ask what you did this summer and you reply "drum corps" they know what it is and are immediately jealous.
  3. '97 all the way. Amazing version of Birdland that year.
  4. I would do a camp now, but the last camp for the Crossmen was this week I think. I just want to prepare and know my stuff so I can get the best experience out of a camp.
  5. Thanks for all this help guys. Are there any tips on specific things to work on playing wise i.e.-triple tounging.... and things like that? Plus, are there any Crossmen alumni that could give me a good idea of what that corps is all about? Their staff and such.
  6. I really liked Spirit of Atlanta's show. No wonder so many people want to audition. Fighting their way back to Finals was pretty amazing.
  7. I have my plans in place for paying the fees.
  8. I'm a sophomore in high school, and I am highly interested in drum corps. I play trumpet and consider myself a fairly good player, (All-District level not All-State). I'm not in that great of physical shape either. (A little on the chunky side). But I would like to hear any suggestions for ways to prepare for auditions. I plan on attending the Crossmen audition camp next year for the experience if nothing else, but I would love to be really prepared for it anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
