Hey Bill, I just had to throw this out there. Those 22 horns were the best kids I have ever worked with ever. They did everything we asked them to do and more, they laid it all on the line and I think they were rewarded for all that effort at the end of the season. That's hornline and drumline both worked harder than any kids I have ever seen and were ready to rehearse every minute right up until Div 2-3 Finals. Those were some exceptional people. I have no opinion on why the corps in So Cal are generally smaller groups though. I just had to throw that first thing out there though. HA!

Impulse has actually done the music from both Willy Wonka and the Choclate Factory and Charlie and the Choclate Factory movies. We did the original in 2003 with some success, we made Div 2-3 Finals. That showed included Pure Imagination, Cheer Up Charlie, Golden Ticket, Oompah Loompah, and Candy Man. This past season we did the newer Danny Elfman music for our show. That show included, Main Titles, Augustus Gloop, Mike TeaVee, and Violet Beauregarde and we did pretty good with that show as well. :) There is a lot of fun music on that soundtrack and there is a lot of material on that soundtrack that can be added to a rockin field show.

Hello, Impulse is doing fine! Thank you for your concern. The corps opted out of the Bakersfield show a while back because there were many members who are still in school taking final exams and graduating. We thought it would be irresponsible to pull kids out of school and drive them to Bakersfield, have them perform, and then return to So Cal early in the morning to take exams that morning. At Impulse we always make school the top priority for all of our members and would never jeopardize a member's schooling or mess with a member's school performance schedule. As for this being our second no show, what you heard was incorrect. Bakersfield was our first scheduled show and as I stated earlier we opted out. We WILL be out in full force at the San Diego show this Friday. Keep an eye out for us! We look forward to performing our show Me, Myself and I this season!

Hey Pit Tech, You do have a point there I never noticed but the staff is not listed on the website. Well I'll just speak for the brass staff but I will say we intentionally have a small brass staff at Impulse this season. We will be adding some drop in clinicians as the summer rolls along but the staff is basically myself and Brian Gallagher who is also the drill designer. We're going with the small brass staff to simplify communication between the staff and membership. With a smaller staff things move much quicker, smoother, and we are able to be much more consistant with everything we do. As for the percussion and visual staff we have a gaggle of people working in those departments. I'm proud to say that Impulse membership is making a stong showing in our staff this season. I am a former member, the drill designer is a former member, our bass tech, tenor tech, a former drum major on visual staff and guard tech are all former members of Impulse. So things are going swimmingly with the corps and it's staff. Oh yes, Magicbobert, it has come to my attention that everyone and their mother seems to know our show theme. Oh well, it was a good secret for about 2.5 minutes.

Wow! Awesome, congrats to Surf. They'll be kickin butt this summer! I look forward to seeing them, I love their shows. On a different note, I'm curious if their book was written for G horns or if they are going to be learning a new horn book. I imagine this was in the works for a while so they planned ahead to have the book written for Bb horns. Oh and Thom is right, Impulse is on Yamaha Bb marching brass, they have been since 2004.
