  1. I love the Bolero rhythmic motif that is woven throughout the show. Lets here it for musical themes instead of actorly ones.
  2. Cavies have the energy and intensity that Phantom used to have.
  3. OK, Cavies are the next level up here. Maybe two levels.
  4. Hmm, Cavies have a cage. SCV has a cage....CAGE FIGHT!
  5. The only thing Phantom's show needs is a sexy voice saying "Phantasm!" over and over.
  6. Not sure what the multiple beds have to do with the True Believer theme. Can anyone explain?
  7. I will be glad when the rules congress outlaws horn players tilting sideways while playing.
  8. Where is Jim, anyway? He take a vow of silence?
  9. Gotta say, I object to starting a show with recorded singing. I want to hear the corps, not a disembodied voice.
  10. Colts could raise funds by running an AirBnB when they are not performing
  11. We are being positive tonight because we are positive people! Come join us!
  12. Genesis has got some dirty feet to be sure, but that is a world-class show design. Their style is kind of 1990's, with big field coverage, no props, and very musical. Keep going Genesis!
  13. Genesis sounds pretty good! Great arrangements.
  14. I will do what I can to keep SCV on page 1 of DCP. But how to do it, hmm.....
  15. I think my son's kindergarten class running around the playground and banging on the monkey bars would score at least a 5.. In fact, that is kind of like SCV's show this year!
  16. I am trying to imagine what a corps would need to do to actually score a 1.000.
  17. De gustibus non est disputandum. Up close, the outfit is rather plain, and is lacking the rich iconography of SCV's classic uniform. But in the context of the show, especially in contrast to guard colors, they work very well.
  18. I agree with you that a show should be enjoyable in and of itself. But some research of any work of art can deepen your appreciation of it. For instance, I have always loved Shostakovich's music, but over time I gradually learned of how his works were influenced by Russian and Soviet history, and about his own fraught history with Soviet officials. This knowledge has added a level of richness to the experience of his music. Likewise, knowing the inspiration behind SCV's theme adds nuance to an understanding of their show.
  19. Can't tell you how happy I am about SCV's win tonight. I have been waiting years for this. And now I can stop cursing BD!
