  1. As I said on another previous thread I've learned not to put anything into placements in shows until at least after San Antonio.
  2. Musically was probably what he was eluding to there. But I am curious about the new visual team. They have a new drill writer and brought over several people from the BD organization.
  3. Thank you Sir!!! You get the point!!! I think that I might have marched Scouts with you. Did you play mellophone?
  4. You know if the Japanese Auto Industry would have had that attitude They would have never became the number one auto maker in the world today. Imitation and then perfection to your own style that fits the modern industry/activity.
  5. No, I doubt that. I have received that fact that the activity has evolved and in order for the Scouts to stay relevant they needed to evolve as well.
  6. So far of all the costumes that I have seen for the corps shows my favorites are: Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment, Crossmen and Blue Knights. I cannot wait to see Madison's!!!
  7. That's fine in my opinion. By them staying just for their corps I don't think it would hardly cause any of the other corps to fold.
  8. The bottom line is what Michael Cesario said, if you don't like a show someone is doing just stick around, someone else is bound to have something that you'll like for crying out loud!
  9. Maybe next year they could title a show "Zoloft" for the chronically depressed fans?
  10. I honestly think from the snippets that I have heard from the music that True Scouts' fans will love this musical book. I also would guess that visually and design wise they will be much better.
  11. If I had to guess I would say that it probably will be a change in look, style, etc. from the Scouts of the past. Obviously the old Madison was not relevant enough for what today's drum corps activity/crowd wanted.
  12. I would describe the show concept as more adventurous and thrilling. Maybe The Dark Knight or Thunderdome on steroids.
  13. Have you not seen the announcement of the musical selections? Great choices of music for this production. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
  14. I hope that people don't start complaining about it being a too "dark" or "depressive" show. From the snippets of the music that I have heard I think it is something heavily emotional as compared to a typical Madison show from the past.
  15. I actually think a "post apocalyptic" theme for this year's show per the dci podcast is going to be intriguing and fascinating to say the least.
  16. I have learned in recent years to not make any comments about possible placements or competitiveness until at least after San Antonio.
  17. Do we know Blue Stars, Crossmen and Boston would crush them on the way out for sure, or is this strictly conjecture and opinion? And even if they get beat by them the first week out, are you inferring that Madison's competitive season at that point should be written off as a disaster after the first week? Please help me understand that rationale.
  18. I totally agree, I don't see with the scouts starting a week later causing any issues as far as competitiveness. Especially if you have a superior design.
  19. I am really excited about the music. But I'm also excited to see what the new visual/BD people bring to the table to help the visual design for this show.
