Phailing Phantom-- How Phar Will They Phall?

From what we saw out west, i would think BK beating Regiment is entirely within the realm of possibility. They were neck and neck, and bk was without a finished closer. -

Indeed. The vein of the comment is that they have not yet hit rock bottom. -

I'm not the one claiming that a different groups standard of excellence is insulting to those who do not share it. -

Perspective is your friend. This is an organization that has made finals since their first appearance. If you take it as an insult that different groups have different philosophies and expectations, you are looking to be insulted. -

Have you ever heard of a place called "rock bottom"? Rock bottom sucks. Sometimes people want to see you touch rock bottom, not because they hate you, but because they love you. If an internet forum is a catalyst for Regiment to touch rock bottom, that says a lot more about Regiment, than it does an internet forum. Moreso, it will start the ball rolling for change that is drastically needed in that organization. -

You are being gracious. The 2005 Regiment show, which included some of this stuff, was incredibly contemporary at the time. Mics in the pit, a male colorguard member, lots of body, happy music that got away from the dark stuff they had been playing, characterizations in retreat blocks, etc. -

Years and years of bad decisions, coupled with a judging community that gives them the "benefit of the doubt". I don't know when the bottom will fall out, but when it does, it could be one of the craziest plummets we've ever seen. I'm thinking probably next year, after they toy around with 7-12, yet again, this season. -
You're not crazy, but I don't necessarily agree. Cavies drill seems much more to the grid. Pete writes a lot of lyrical curves, albeit at ridiculously small intervals. The part that makes their drill feel/look similar, in my mind, is the marching technique.

You're entitled to your wrongness, this is 'Merica.

Start by getting rid of all electronics! Am I the only one who can hear the quality difference between the natural high-quality tones/sounds of brass and percussion and the nearly monotone P.A. system quality amplification of the electronic keyboard? Why not let the brass performers play it, let them create the organ sound, that's what they auditioned for, not to be substituted or enhanced by artificial sound from an electronic keyboard. If I were a brass performer today, I would be furious and ashamed to think a brass staff and its corp mgt. would even consider trying to supplement or enhance brass and percussion performers with synthetic sounds given the time, effort and dollars they invest away from family and school/college to be the best drum and bugle performers they can be. The last thing I ever want to hear is "that corps is so lucky to be in the place it is, for if it wasn't for the synthesizer they may not have made finals." Just because Regiment isn't doing it well, doesn't mean it can't be done well.

So, basically, you have no conscience.
