  1. I'm sorry you misunderstood or I was not very clear. My comment was not aimed at people talking about placement possibilities. It's fun to speculate about that! I just get tired of 1 particular poster being obsessed with why his/her corps should be beating Teal, because Teal has this or that wrong with it. It seems to be his/her only goal in life. (Multiple threads, multiple comments.) Just trying to be nice and not respond directly to those comments. Sorry. Please speculate away. I do all of the time:) After 42 years of being in/around this activity I'm actually pretty good at it! Signed, the spouse of......
  2. Had to jump in here. I am a parent of a Teal member and the wife of the person's signature at the end of this post. After having several conversation's with the director (who I actually marched with in the Crossmen:), and in talking with my daughter who is marching her 2nd summer, and hanging around the corps whenever possible, Teal's goals for this year are all about Teal. They are not looking to beat particular corps or obtain a particular placement. This year is about doing the best they can, giving performances that please the crowd and themselves, taking care of the members so that they all have a positive experience and want to return, and given all of that, wherever they end up will be just fine as long as they have maxed out every opportunity for improvement. (which they are doing:) They have EXACTLY the right idea on how to do drum corps, IMO. Without naming any names or quoting anyone, I think it's sad that some people can only make comments about their corps, by saying something negative about another or making it their summers goal to beat another corps, or insinuating that they should be. I think they can and should be proud of what their own corps has accomplished without worrying about other corps positions. I help run the Wichita show that is tomorrow night - if you are anywhere in the neighborhood come on and join us. It's going to be a great show with NO RAIN or TORNADOS anywhere in sight. (of course its going to be 100 degrees tomorrow, but hey, you can't have everything:) Thanks.
  3. Oh Yeah! Go Teal! My daughter called and said they had their best performance to date!
  4. Good! Can't wait to see them on webcast tomorrow!
  5. Dave -Wish we could be there. Say a little cheer for Teal please! See you on Monday - and check my FB page - billboard in ICT with Kris and Chelsea:)
  6. I have 5 tickets for San Antonio, Sat. Night -Section C row 29 seats 18-22 and 2 tickets for San Antonio Sun night - 2 of those same seats. $45 each (face value). pm if interested. Thanks!
  7. And I know that Scott had to travel most of the day yesterday ( on at least 2 flights) so he probably was not able to fax until yesterday evening.
  8. My wife helps run that show (and the one on Monday night in Wichita) We were in the booth - she helps with the tabulations - the recap was done at precisely the same time as the scores were and was given to the DCI show Coordinator, Scott Speelman. Unfortunately we did not have wireless internet in the booth so we could not send it at that moment. Scott had to "call in" the numbers which he did and then I'm sure he faxed in the print out yesterday - don't know why they are not up yet. But it certainly is not because we did not deliver them. BTW - the scores were posted here just before they were announced to the audience:) If it looks like we are going to have the same problem on Monday, we will post recaps here. I have a broadband card for my laptop so we will try to utilize that on Monday. However the program has to be loaded into the tabulator's laptop, so not sure how that will work yet, but at the very least we will post the numbers here if it looks like we are going to have the same problem. So just for future reference - it is seldom the fault of the show staff that recaps are not up in a timely manner - the program that we use at shows automatically does the recap as we enter the judges scores - so the recap is always done by the time the scores are delivered to the DCI coordinator on site. They then do their best to call it in if there is no internet service.
  9. I was fun to be able to post while watching. I will be doing the same from the Wichita show on the 19th. Great line-up - Allstate Drums Across Kansas Wichita Monday, July 19th Blue Stars - La Crosse, WI Bluecoats - Canton, OH Carolina Crown - Ft. Mill, SC Forte - Grand Prairie, TX Glassmen - Toledo, OH Legends - Kalamazoo, MI Music City - Nashville, TN Spirit - Atlanta, GA Troopers - Casper, WY
  10. And now the scores..... Revolution 71.60 ************** Colts 74.70 Glassmen 79.05 Blue Knights 82.00 SCV 83.80 Blue Devils 87.75
  11. Very sophisticated show by SCV. I like Bartok, so that helps. All modern composers are not created equal. They elegantly captured the character of the music with the visual.
  12. Several blanks in SCV - I hope they weren't carried off by the skeeters.
  13. The Blue Devils have completed their presentation. Very good performers.
  14. The Devils and their reflection are ready to take the field.
  15. Blue Knights! - I really like the Blue Knights show this year. Crafted beautifully and very melodic. something unusual in drum corps these days - a corps that is not afraid to play a complete melodic line. I love it. Maybe it will catch on.
  16. I really like the Blue Knights show! Very well crafted.
  17. Solid all around. And isn't amazing what a little melody will do. Thank you Blue Knights.
  18. Fixed is a relative term. Are they perfect? not yet..... are they better...... you betcha!
  19. Nice mood and overall effect at the end of the ballad. - Well coordinated
