  1. I completely agree with this. I think a lot of corps got a whole lot better this year, but look at the scores this year compared with last year. BD did a phenomenal job both last year and this year, but their score was two points lower. Scores were lower in general across the board, actually. So many corps are getting serious and rising, and SCV and a few others definitely need to watch out. I can see the Cavies getting back up there too. They've definitely done it before. I just don't think Bloo has quite reached their potential yet. I feel like they're super close to figuring out the right formula for the perfect show, but they're just not quite there yet. They've gotta get gold one of these years. BK might get up there too.
  2. I've been watching the Bluecoats since 2012 and I'm not done watching them yet. They've improved so much and hopefully next year they'll come back with something fresh and innovative and get that gold. If not, I don't think they'll back down until they get there.
  3. 1) Bluecoats - I wasn't really sure at first because I was so in love with Tilt that I couldn't really imagining anything topping it (and this didn't for me), but I really adored Kinetic Noise. 2) Cadets - Saw this live at Pageant of Drums and it was phenomenal. Some of the 10 stuff was a little weird, but it was still a crazy awesome show. Just wish I could've seen it with the new uniforms. 3) Cavaliers - I don't know. I saw them twice in one week and the difference was mind-blowing. I saw them at PoD and then they came and used our rehearsal field at North Central College in Illinois so we got to see them perform after their rehearsal that night. These guys are so dedicated to what they do and they pulled off an awesome show this year. 4) Crown - I don't think there's much else to say. Crown just has stunning shows all of the time. I love their style. And come on, that brass. 5) Scouts - This show was precious. I saw it in the very early season and it still sounded great. I love these guys. Their show was definitely better than some of the past years and I think they killed it this season. I just hope they continue to do so.
  4. Hi, I'm new here (obviously) and just wanted to introduce myself quickly for optimum friend-making! I love making new drum corps friends because, living in Michigan, there are not many people around who know anything about DCI at all because we are out of the way. Well, my name is Abbey and I'm fifteen (I know, I know)! I'm the junior drum major at my high school and this will be my second year in the position (I started as a sophomore). My principle instrument is flute, which I have been playing for six years, but I have been learning trumpet for a few years now so I can participate in DCI. I've been marching for five years (since I was eleven)! I'm about to turn sixteen, so, yes, it has been five years. I know my math ;) I spent a season doing winter guard last year with MCGC. Since I live about 45 minutes from where Legends is based out of, I plan to start there the summer after my senior year to get some experience before I head off to my dream corps. My dream corps is the Bluecoats! I have been hooked on them since I saw their 2012 show, UnMasqued. Willie Veenstra, the Bluecoats drum major for the past three years, is my ultimate goal in life. He is one of the best drum majors ever, in my opinion, and epitomizes everything a drum major should be. I'd give anything to wear that uniform. I plan to major in either Music Performance or Music Ed at the University of Michigan and hopefully be in the marching band (if they let me lol). So that's about all there is to know about me! Band is my life and I hope to meet some new DCI friends here. Thanks for reading!
