  1. "best cymbal line" went to Yokohama...
  2. Or you could just catch cleanly and not have any extra movement. <grabs drum pad, backs out slowly, while guardo's pile in>
  3. coming from a drummer it seems to make sense, cause if you catch on the and count, all extra movement would stop on the downbeats. It seems to me like it would look cleaner...
  4. Jeez...that sucks for Swerv. Did he park at a meter and forget to pay? Or in a government spot that wasn't clearly marked or something?
  5. Boston is under Remo...I didn't see them in 02 so I don't know :(
  6. The Glassmen tried mylar last year and it worked... I don't think the sound dissapears below mezzo...if you tune a snare right it shouldn't...and if your players aren't feather tapping, and playing marcato at 4 inches it shouldn't either... My point being is that you don't have to crank the crap out of the tops to get a good snare sound... I also don't think that today's snares sound like "formica table tops"...I like the "cleaner" sound we have now...It may sound like they are non-snary to you from 5 feet away but stand 30 feet away and you'll get the snare sound...if the people tune right...that's just my preference though :P
  7. "Real snare sound" is a preference of each player. "Real snare sound" has changed...The snare has changed. :ramd:
  8. Well you might want to double hoop the bottoms...it makes the guts cut so much better to the stands. Remember, the trick is not to hear the snare sound clearly when you are listening or playing right next to the drum, but hear it from the stands. You might want to keep the snare strands just a little tighter then then you normally would, then crank the bottom until it almost breaks. This allows you to have a short snary sound rather then a really wet sound, which isn't what you're really going for...and if you know how to tune a top head, you should be fine.
  9. I wish I had it too...anyone bored enough to do it? :P
  10. Right on Stef... You're gonna have to spend the whole summer with her anyways...
  11. When I heard the rumor, it was for next year, not this year.
  12. Scouts won't go Bb. I heard the Cadets might be going G though. Is there any truth to the rumor? The only reason I think he (George) would do it, is to blow everyone away on G's after mostly everyone makes the switch to Bb. Any truth?
