You are right (no snark). I’m pointing out that it is not a good guard moment relating Madness to Creativity and so confuses. Use and integration of Guard is always a challenge. That the Guard of a once testosterone fueled Corp ends with something akin to a amateur Drag Show complicates trying to guess how gender might impact scoring. Poor Debbie is likely a wonderful and fair minded judge who does not deserve a thread with her name in the title.

BD does even less marching while they play than last year. Could say the same for SCV. Move from one set piece to another. I feel like I’m seeing two different events. Corps that march and play and those that do set pieces. Not the same activity to my amateur eye and ear. But I don’t pretend to have expertise here.

Shamefully (perhaps shamelessly) ignorant 5th year Guard Dad posting first time. There I did it. SOS is a universal theme so a winner; percusion, brass, and guard books are obviously much more demanding. Yes, I’m buying into the general meme that other cores are upping their game. Super - we all get better drum corps. That said, BAC will put out a layered thing of beauty this year is my guess. I could be wrong but that is only a statement of fact and not a remote likelihood. We will push the top three this year but have a big crowd pleaser again. Again, I could be wrong........nahhhhhhhhhh
