  2. I agree. It's really amazing...and that's just hearing the computer play it. I know this is going to be my favorite piece of my 11 years here.
  3. Rocky Point is finished and will be handed out at this camp. It's great, and will make an awesome closer to an awesome show. We have a TON to work on this weekend. I can't wait to get started.
  4. The Bushwackers will be hosting their 3rd winter rehearsal of the 2006 season. WHEN - January 14th and 15th, 10am-5pm both days WHERE - Newark, NJ @ Rutgers U Center for Law and Justice Directions are available on our website at http://www.bushwackers.org/member/rutgers-...directions.html Just a note, we will also be hosting a rehearsal in Garfield, NJ on January 28 and 29. 5. The Bushwackers won the DCA World Championship in 1990. DCA is much different today in many ways.
  6. Thanks, man. We appreciate it. This show is non-stop energy from top to bottom, and I think it does a great job of epitomizing the 25 years of our history and the 3 different major "genre" phases we've been through without rehashing any old material. I look forward to turning around to the crowd to salute at the end of the show and hopefully seeing many of you with smiles on your faces...having just had them blown off. :)
  7. you're obviously a troll...but I laughed my ### off when I read this.
  8. "Music for a Scene from Shelly". I'd poop. Bill George, haven't we talked about Sym. 1 before? I agree. There's a lot more to that then SCV explored in 99. Barber also has a whole catalogue of choral pieces that would make amazing ballads ("Sure on this Shining Night", "Let Down the Bars o' Death", "Reincarnations: The Coolin"). Everyone knows Adagio for Strings, though...so it's the first piece corps/bands tend to gravitate to. It would be cool if they went to the West Chester, PA show again like they did last year. Barber was born and raised in WC, about 2 blocks up Church Street from the university. He's also buried in West Chester. I'd love to see them arc it up in front his childhood home and play some of his music. The lawyers who have offices in there might not like it...but who cares. It's Barber for cryin' out loud!
  9. What a phenominal camp. We had a great December turn out, we beat up that monster of an opener, we had an awesome visual rehearsal, and we welcomed a bunch of new faces into the fold. Great times. If I had closed my eyes and just listened, I would have had no idea it was only December. January is going to be even better. We'll have more brass music, and we'll start rolling out the percussion book. We're going to continue crafting our "look" for 2006 as well. I'm very excited. :) Go Bush!
  10. The AL Post can contain our bodies...but not our energy. I hope they have a lot of insurance. :) On the fence? Come down. The beach on the summer weekends is overrated.
  11. Don't forget about the next camp!!! December 10th and 11th from 10am-5pm both days at the Garfield American Legion Hall!!! Directions = http://www.bushwackers.org/member/garfield...directions.html
  12. The mello book is mad sweet (that's what the kids say these days). Can you say "tuba feature"?
  13. Seriously. When it was announced that we'd be doing a brand new arrangement of "Perfect Year" on the field, many vets wondered aloud, "how are we going to finish that song without crying". lol It's hard enough to sing through it.
  14. Bob, I like your tag line for the show... ..."everything you love about the Bushwackers but have never heard before"... I think the show really chronicles our path through the last 25 years pretty well. I'm sure the visual design will as well. Folks, we tore into a bunch of "Fanfare for the New" at the open house...and if you like notes, we got some for ya'! Holy brass book (batman)!!!!
  15. Whether or not you made it to our very successful open house, you are invited to join us at the Garfield American Legion on... 16. I especially liked this part. :) ...Show coordinator Jim Dugan announced the show for 2006. This year the Bushwackers find it only fitting to honor our first 25 years by presenting a totally new show showcasing the 3 musical stages of the corps during these past 25 years, Jazz, Broadway, and Symphonic. "Fanfare for the New" by Hugo Montenegro, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Perfect Year" from the musical Sunset Boulevard, And Ron Nelsons "Rocky Point Holiday" will help the corps celebrate its 25th season and is sure to entertain fans wherever the corps performs.
  17. The show is amazing...the staff is unbelievable...the membership is dedicated and a family. It's time.
