  1. 3 tape set in great condition, multi camera, all 21 corps performances from the 1998 season. RARE! No longer sold by DCI - grab it while you can. https://www.ebay.com/itm/332683944617?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  2. First, I think 2015 and 2016 are still available on marchingmusicdownloads.com, and you can download high quality recordings, not just mp3, so if you can't get the actual CD's anymore, those will sound exactly the same. You just have to make your own CD...I even think you can order the entire group of corps in a bundle for each year. However, keep looking at the DCI store periodically, because I noticed things popping up after they had been missing for a month or so. For example, the Essentials collection blu-rays: right now all three are listed, but there have been times where one or two were missing from the website. So don't give up yet...but as someone else posted, there are many things that licensing will not allow to be restocked once they are sold out. Sad. Check ebay regularly :)
  3. Agreed about the head gear...sat in Allentown last year and thought BK and SCV looked “short” from the stands. Made the drill look different as well. I’m right with you, have to adjust to each change that comes along.
  4. 3 tape set in great condition, multi camera, all 21 corps performances from the 2002 season. RARE! No longer sold by DCI - grab it while you can. https://www.ebay.com/itm/332680756662?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  5. Yup, that was Drum Corps heaven back then...I miss the Fan Network BIG TIME. Not sure we will ever see anything like it again...sad, but reality.
  6. I believe 1994 they offered top 21 or top 12 on CD...In 2006 and 2007 they didn't offer a second CD set for corps 13-21. Those corps were available via an audio download on the old DCI Fan Network, so if you wanted those corps you had to buy each one individually and make your own CD set each of those years. Its crazy how much stuff was out there and is now so hard to find due to licensing, limited editions, etc.
  7. For VHS/DVD - yikes, there was lots of stuff. Doing this off the top of my head right now, but here is what I remember: Obviously, there are the blu-ray/DVD sets that DCI started in 2009, and then there is the Legacy series complete set with 1974 thru 1999 top 12 on DVD. There are also the three special blu-ray sets that DCI still is selling with various corps from various years remastered (I highly recommend these by the way, they sound and look fabulous). There were the three "Countdown" DVD sets released in mid-2000's from the Classic Countdown movie theater showings. And there are also various years where corps 13-21 were released on a DVD, and even some years where Div.2/3 or Open Class were released on DVD. Lots of stuff is still on sale thru DCI, although the pickings are getting slim. The first DVD sets released were in 2000, and thru 2007 those DVD sets had the various audio tracks you could pick while watching (like judge recordings, staff recordings, etc) as well as various video tracks like high camera, multicamera, guard, or percussion. Those were top 12 corps. VHS - so many, it will be hard to keep track! I think the first VHS released to the public was probably in the 70's (late). DCI provided the PBS broadcast of top 12 on VHS, as well as prelims videos in high camera of all the corps. That started in 79 I think, and those high cam vids were released each year thru 1987 from DCI. Video Express took over in 1988, and they released individual videos on VHS of each corps, plus a full finals set, a full high camera or multicam prelims set, etc. I think they lasted thru 1994, releasing full finals multicamera, individual, or quarterfinals/semis of top 25 each year. I''ll try and continue later...
  8. They also released a DCI Champions CD set which had every champion from 1972 thru the early 90's or so...
  9. For CD sets - First, in the mid 90's DCI released the Collector's Edition sets with 1972 - 1996 top 12 on CD (five volumes, five cd sets in each volume, 2 CD's per set) 1988 - first year for CD, top 12 only 1989 - top 12 1990 - top 21 91 - now, most years top 21 or more, depending on how many corps did semis or how many corps were World Class, etc. I think in 2006 DCI only did top 12 on CD then rest of corps were released via audio downloads, and the same for 2007. They went back to top 21 or whatever in 2008 and have been that way pretty much since. Some CD sets were 4 volumes, others 3 most years. They also released various CD's like Ornaments in Brass, Best of the 90's,and midseason CD sets from 1998 to 2002 or 2003 (corps recorded midseason at San Antonio or similar).
  10. Wow, this is a task I would have fun with since I think I have most everything that DCI has released since 1972 (only missing a few things)... This may take a while, so I'll post as I have time: Lets go with vinyl first - 1972 - three volumes from finals. I think a DCI Preview album set was also released through Fleetwood (3 volumes) as well, which had early season recordings. 1973 - three vol. finals. 1974 - five volumes. 1975 - five volumes. 1976 - five 1977 - five 1978 - five 1979 - five 1980 - five, and State of the Art was released with BD and SCV 1981 - five 1982 - five 1983 - five 1984 - six thanks to Bill Cook wanting his son's Colts recording on the record set :) 1985 - six 1986 - six 1987 - six 1988 - six 1989 - six
  11. Has anyone figured out why Boston is removed from the YEA show hosted in Allentown on June 30? Yet, they will be an hour away practicing at Franklin Field in Philly? Its even bizarre on the DCI website as the show has TWO intermissions listed now - one where Boston's spot would have been. I don't understand why they would not be at the Allentown show if they are in that close proximity in Philly...my daughter and I have tickets to that show and were really excited to see Bluecoats, Cadets and Boston go head to head. :(

  15. I think 1990 was pretty stacked...PR and BD started the season the faves and we’re undefeated early on, and then Cavies upset them at a Midwest regional, then Star won a regional , SCV won dci south regional, and then Cadets won DCI East. There were six corps vying for the title that week in Buffalo. Add on a great Crossmen show (NY Voices!), Dutch Boy first time in finals, VK with another funny show, Spirit going back to a southern style, and Bluecoats powering thru an entertaining Duke Ellington show and that season stands out for me. I think the only corps that had an off year that season in the top 12 was Madison, but they were still entertaining...
  16. I believe that any of the corps who were top12 finalists from DCI the previous year (1975) were not allowed contractually to be placed on any recordings other than DCI recordings during the 76 season. So, Fleetwood, etc could not put them on their albums. Thus the reason BD, Cavies and 27 are not on these album sets...

  20. Mechanical license is what DCI gets for producing the CDs and audio downloads each year...note that they got the mechanical license for Wicked Game on Boston’s show, because it’s on the CDs. The sync license is for the right to put the music to video for the blurays, DVD’s and video downloads, and DCI couldn’t get that, or didn’t want to pay the excessive cost to get that. It must have been a LOT of money if they could get it but couldn’t afford it...so sad, because I can’t even bring myself to watch the shows on the Blu-ray like Boston and Blue Stars because so much is missing.
  21. It’s DCI who has to pay, not Boston, and honestly, I think it wasn’t that DCI couldn’t get the rights...It’s the fact they couldn’t afford the cost presented to them.
  22. Just to let you know there is/was no vol. 4 and 5 for years 72 and 73...DCI only released three volumes those years. 74 was the first year for more than 3 volumes.
