  11. Hi Lois, The answer to your question is a lot. I started going to the Grand Prix in 1970 and I don’t remember the Buccaneers not being there. Hey Allen lets just hope the snow is gone by July 5th, Lois and I will miss you in Wildwood. BTW Guys The Jersey diners are ok, but when in Clifton Rutts Hut should be the stop.
  12. Allen my friend, We are all looking forward to the Statesmen’s return to the Grand Prix. As for the gas prices I’m working on a deal with the Smart car company, I think it will be cheaper to buy 63 Smart cars than to fill up three buses every weekend. Keep the light on in the window the Caballeros will be traveling north on July 5th Have Fun this weekend, we only have 4 parades gotta make the gas money.
  13. My first Grand Prix was 1970, my Jr. corps the Monarchs did an exhibition and the show was only a senior show that year. FYI, as of last year the host corps can once again use the contest field as it’s practice site.
  14. Not so fast Tom 29 days of sparing still to go. A little heavy bag, some jump rope drills and some more road work before the big show. Get your tickets they are going fast.
  15. John you are right about the Crusaders, back in the day the host corps did not compete. But the Jr. Winner was the Bridgeport PAL and the only reason I know this is that Rich Warga won’t let me forget it. Because he was in that corps.

  18. 32 days before we hit the Beach Don't miss The 5th Annual Cabs at the Beach contest the best weekend of Drum Corps of the Season.
  19. It was an amazing weekend, the weather was great but what would you expect in Wildwood. I was just watching and I was tired I don’t know how you guys could work 14 hours on Saturday and walk up to the boardwalk after practice and than start it all over again Sunday morning. Andrew is right the music is fantastic, and the drill is amazing, and OMG the guard is picking up where they were last year and than some. As Mike said we still need 3 spots to fill-in the brass line, all other sections are solid. As always the City of Wildwood opened it’s welcoming arms to the Caballeros with access to the High School, Maxwell Field, the soccer field and Fox Park. Many Thanks to Mayor Ernie for all of his help not only for our annual camp but all he does for the Cabs at the Beach show which is shaping up nicely Get your tickets NOW they are going fast.
  20. I’m off to Wildwood to put my toe in the water. Don’t miss out on the DCA Season Opener. Cabs at the Beach 37 Days to go.
  21. Timmy Any time I think my 40 years in drum corps is a long time, I read what the like of you and Andy put up and I sit down and say to myself (hey kid shut up and read). Give my bet to Donna
  22. Can’t release anything until all music rights have been cleared, but you are all welcome to visit any of our practices. Even better than that come on out to Cabs at the Beach June 21st Tickets are on sale now.
  23. 39 Days Cabs at the Beach. If the contest was yesterday the show would have been called Cabs at the Monsoon, 80 mile an hour winds and Maxwell field was surrounded by water. Mayor Ernie has promised sunny skys for June 21st.
  24. I met my wife in Jr Corps when she was 10 and I was 12, don’t get crazy we started going out when she was 19. She aged out in 79 when I joined the Cabs which by the way was the year we were married. Boy was she ###### because she could not march we were still a all male corps. The next 4 years were not very pleasant, but when Coz created women in 82 she was one of the first to sign up. The next 4 years were great we were back on the field together with two undefeated season it couldn’t get better. But as they say all good things come to an end, she wanted to start the family and a year later our son was born. Now we just celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary and I only hear every few days isn’t 41 years enough.
