  1. I know the mellos were on Mello 6's. I'm not sure what the trumpets were playing on, but I think a big part of our sound that year was fact that our 3rd trumpets were actually on flugelhorns. That really helped with warming up the upper brass tone.
  2. I suggest going to both. I am a Crossmen alum, so obviously I'm biased, but I also believe that some corps just "fit" people better. I was lucky that in my one and only year that I could march, I found the corps that was perfect for me. You need to get a feel for the organizations first hand, not just based on what other people say. One might just "feel" right making your decision much easier. Allison
  3. Honestly I think it's great. If you want to see just the shows buy the dvds. This is the only way DCI will ever be sold to an audience who doesn't already understand the complexity and difficulty of what we do. This kind of exposure will do nothing but help the activity. Just my $.02 Allison
  4. hagerty's is awesome...it doesn't leave the white film like wrights or the blue tint like blue magic and it doesn't scratch the horn like wrights my horn used to shine so clear that it hurt my eyes to play it on sunny days also with hagertys you can get the polish for when it needs to be really shiny, the spray for when you have a little less time, or the wipes are awesome for little touchups on the bus on the way to shows
  5. I'd get a UMI/Conn mello 6...I know that's what most corps use, and I personally love it.
