  1. Tremendous Blast Was A Tremendous Success Again This Year. With 6 contras, a Special Ed Bus and 2 miles of Stupid Tuba Tricks; Tremendous Blast wins another Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade World Championship in La Crosse Wisconsin. It was a challenge this year with some conflicting events fracturing the Tremendous membership, but at the last minute a small corpse of Tremendously Hard Corpse Blasters pulled together and drove on to victory. It is a Great day in Shcell’s Park Ladies and Gentlemen a great day indeed. Go forth and be Tremendous! Signing off for now Acting Tremendous Corpse Director FRITZ!
  2. That's great I got your message I'll get in contact with you later today
  3. The parade steps off at 10:00 AM so I’m suggesting we all be at the line up no later than 9:00 AM. There will be no bus this year so well have to organize some kind of car pool anybody who owns a van should bring it along perhaps you could charge a nominal fee for gas or something. I’m still getting a trickle of information from Stoli but we are confirmed for the parade and for camping at the Pettibone Resort. Itinerary: Arrive at Pettibone Friday, September 23th. Ask for the Tremendous Blast Campsite, they'll get you directions. Dues are $25, gets you a shirt and camping. Bring your own instrument. Parade is Saturday Morning, we do not have a bus this year we will need to car pool around 8:00 AM. Print out music and bring it along. Download music from http://www.tremendoustremendousohohtremendous.com/blasters.htm Wear some blue pants. Blue Star Brat Stand at 7 PM Saturday for banquet. There will be camping on Saturday night too.
  4. I am taking on the duties of Tremendous Corps Director for this year’s triumphant return of Tremendous Blast to Lacrosse Wisconsin for the Oktoberfest Celebration Starting on Friday 09/23/2011. There are more details to follow but rest assured there will marching, and camping, and perhaps there will be a beverage or two consumed. Clear your calendar so that you may be a part of this Tremendous Opportunity to PARTY!
  5. Mini Corps Competition is more intense that the Class A Division. I think its an interesting venue and it really has taken on a life of its own. I say its all good the thing that I think is best about DCA is that they are providing a venue for the week end Drum Corps. Its venues like Mini Corps and alumni corps that are going to save this activity from extinction. Its no small wonder that DCI is shrinking and DCA is growing. Rock on Mini Corps!
  6. Don’t forget bonuses and penalties for back room politics
  7. As you have already seen the answer is… YES Senior Corps is the part time weekend experience that is tailor made for all levels of experience and participation. It’s the big juniors that are all consuming. Us adults have to hold jobs, buy groceries, and pay rent. Pick a local corps and drop into practice some time. I’ll bet they’ll have you signed up before the day is done.
  8. DCA will amplify about the same time saxaphones start marchining in DCI
  9. Wow this is truly a tremendous thread that is running 16 pages.
  10. You have come and do the Minnesota shows then party at Patrick’s on Third with all the Drum Corps Bums Time of Your Life :mmm:
  11. Wow I think I’ll just have a side salad and a rye crisp.
  12. The only thing that hurts about the Bb horns in my book is that we are not Drum & Bugle Corps anymore. The activity is either growing or its dying. It will change as time goes on and we shouldn’t try to stop it. I guess the key of the horns aren’t important, it’s the music you make with them. I will have to relearn how to read bass cleff again but that is also a small matter. Percussion should be able to hit anything with a stick that sounds cool when it gets hit with a stick to include saxophones. The color guard is a part of the artistic aspect to the show and they add a lot of flash and crash. But I think we still need to honor our respective counties in a presentation of the National Flag Squad. That patriotism is apart of the charm that is unique to DCA. Its also cool to see an occasional Canadian and Japanese flag on the field. I’m not so hot on amplifying stuff. The low maintenance aspect of the activity is one of the attractive aspects of it. If you want it louder get more of them and hit them harder!
  13. The Govies have a great parade in St. Peter. Goes right in front of Patrick’s on Third. Three Blocks then Drink! Nothing better.
