  1. Well I did not see an answer to the photo but a lot of hints it reminds me of my time with the DPD where on the range I was rated as a Marksman. There is a Moe Knox photo of Terry Paige playing solo with his fly down and who could forget Whisper, Freddie Steiner was a quiet guy who played a mean horn. SOMF
  2. Thanks Andy, Unless something changes I have to be back in Orlando on 04/21. Yes Ray I will be flying Jet Blue the only direct flight between White Plains and Orlando
  3. Andy.....Have not heard anything reference BHOF in Bridgeport, I will be in Danbury 04/15 - 04/21...
  4. Getting a little away from the current conversation, a very good friend Tom Swenson a former member of the CT Hurricanes, FL Brass, CT Alumni and Park City Pride passed away this past Friday. Tom was also I believe on the board of the former Fairfield Colonnades. He loved drum corps and especially the Hurricanes, at FL Brass practices he would hoist the Hurricane flag in the third baritone section; RIP Tom-SOMF
  5. We might want to mix a little modern in with the old to increase participation, well I believe it us under consideration by our board we will see
  6. Maybe we can get FL to have a winter event in the future??????
  7. A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my drum corps friends from partly sunny Florida; temp 74 I am proud to say I was a part of the CT Hurricanes and a part of the 3 times we won the Dream and yes Pepe did talk to me even when I beat him in a game of bocce ball
  8. Okay, one more hint on #2, he was a Dandy, the old Bob and weave of a drum Major and in 69 I believe it was became our drill instructor,
  9. Thanks for the ad, I am a frequent flyer on Jet Blue; I fly into Westchester County or Hartford which ever fare is lower usually for a Park city Pride Event although this year it was a little to expensive to justify the trip
  10. The FL Brass board of directors is/are/could be discussing the idea, costs would be a factor- maybe a Southeast Championship type of show in the winter to get the participation in order to be successful, the venue would probably be in either Lakeland, Tampa or Orlando; if the board gave an approval. I will forward your interest to Marty (director) at the Oct 05 practice.
  11. One of the most dedicated and nice guys that came out of the Bridgeport PAL to the Hurricanes Arnie Juliano
  12. If it is who I think, he was the soloist when Bridgeport Pal played the Lonely Bull Retired from the Post Office
  13. Nanci Your work is appreciated by all of us, as we get older it gets the mind thinking about the old days when drum corps was a lot more fun; the pictures you post of the idols from the 60's & 70's brings back a lot of memories ; now a days I have to push myself to go to FL Brass practice here in Florida, but when I get there I love it, it is like being in a time warp, so Thank You for your work
  14. I know, I know this guy used to drive me nuts he was never "dull" rimes with------ We had some characters hanging with the Hurricanes years ago

  17. If your interested in a weekend of the finest types of drumming from Ancient to modern day trap by some of the best drummers of our time, make plans to attend the USARD National Convention in Danbury, CT at the Crown Plaza Hotel April 25 thru April 27
  18. Hey Andy, you forget about me, I am still in Orlando Another Lefty story; at the Mission Drums contest in Boston I believe it was 1968, Lefty got into an argument with I believe a Cabellaro who started walking away from Lefty while uttering a few nice words, Lefty took one crutch and with one toss took the guys legs right out from under him, I never saw a man jump up so fast run like the wind with Lefty and one crutch right behind him
  19. Florida is his home but lighning bolt is in his heart Fish cthurricane@cfl.rr.com SOMF
