  1. Expert indeed Andrew, being one of the fellow charter members of the "Buccaneers Fat Guys Society".......our battle is still...."show me the buffet!" Hope you're having a great summer! Jerry
  2. Kinda funny how we're carrying on about what a great guy Bill Thissen is, when the picture was of Mark Fulcomer. It's quite OK, but what about Mark? ....or is it "What About Bob"?
  3. Aaaand, I believe the only corps to ever win nationals as a junior and as a senior corps.
  4. Pennsylvania indeed. Not a blue corps though..........
  5. .....a man from Ohio, me thinks. Or perhaps he attended college in "The Buckeye State".
  6. Boy....somebody's gettin' a lot o' mileage outta this one....
  7. If it was indeed Harrisburg, wouldn't they be wearing different shirts? Just guessing.......
  8. Agreed Alan. I was just throwing some names out there to stimulate conversation. The "Keystone State" could support any number of competitive DCA corps. No argument there. C'mon PA.....get on it!!
  9. Not sure here. If you refer only to DCA competing drum corps, then I guess the answer currently is one. The topic title does say DCA corps. There are quite a few others though. Cadets Buccaneers Alumni Reilly Raiders Archer-Epler Steel City Hanover Lancers Xtreme Erie Thunderbirds Emmaus Sentinels (they're back this year) Belvederes (they're back this year) There are lots of others........help me here! Jerry
  10. #104 is Buccaneers' "Gentle Giant", Dale Leisey. He passed away in '04. I joined the corps years after Dale left, but everyone that marched with him has wonderful Dale stories. Jerry
  11. Dale, I agree with Jami. Great job reviewing!! What a treat it was to see you and Tammi and the twins. The babies are absolutely precious! Jerry
  12. You know the rule Jeff....."what happens at Kelly's,.............." I've never had a bad weekend in Wildwood and I've been going there for gigs since '81. Good times! Thanks to the Cabs for sponsoring the show and to Mayor Troiano for being such a gracious host! Jerry
  13. Nope....but he certainly looks like he is. Irv marched with Lou, Lois and I in Archie in the early 80's. Played bass drum. He was young for sure, heck we all were, but not 10 years old! Jerry
  14. Hi John! Can't wait to pay the Govies a visit again. We have a member in the Bucs snare line that is over 40. His name is Irv, he's awesome! Jerry
  15. Come on! Somebody say Ron Cook's name out loud. Ooops! Did I just type that?.....
  16. The Buccaneers purchased new Bb brass, battery and pit from Dynasty in 2005. Since then, we have entered into an exclusive contract with Dynasty and are happy to say "it's working out for us"! Link to press Bucs/Dynasty release Jerry
  17. Friends, The Archie guys can help me with the facts on this one. In '81 we had the pleasure of marching with a fine gentleman by the name of Jim Magee. I believe Jim was 72 years old that summer and he was the oldest marching member of our corps. Jim was from Bordentown, NJ and played in the baritone line. The Archer Epler Musketeers were 11th that year in prelims. Jerry
